first my situation:
i moved in an apt with my gf 6 months ago, $600 rent, the apt complex LOOKS all right. But the area is slowly becoming a ghetto.
Our neighbors/most people in the area are of a certain race....i dont want to prejudge or whatsoever.
Situation 2: We're about to move out already, we have all our furniture already stored away, GF is at her parent's and most of the time i am here alone w/ only my PC/monitor 🙂
Our neighbors are the TYPICIAL stereotype of "Ghetto" Thugs..with hoods, and they're walking back and forth the apt complex..we're 99% sure they deal drugs.
When we still were in the apt with all the furniture we had a bunch of PCs, my GF a laptop...and the apt has a BIG glass-sliding door....and the thugs/neighbors are constantly walking back and forth...and VERY OFTEN just stand in front of the glass door (it HAS sahdes yes, and they're mostly closed..but once in a while you want to air it out/let light in etc..)
So theyt're standing there and stare right in our apt and see all the PCs, Notebook etc. like they're checking out what we have. My GF got really annoyed of that too.
* it started three months ago when we went to our car on the ap-complex and it was broken in, the car radio was stolen. We're 99,9% sure it was the neighbors..if it was exaclt THEM or maybe others..we dont know. Does it really matter ? We filed a police report, they took prints and everything.

In the last 90days or so those people tried to OPEN OUR APT doors at night (we have VERY unusual waking/sleeping hours 🙂 ...eg. i hear someone trying to open the door and checking whether it's open ! (We might be upstarirs watching TV etc..)
The last time i heard a woman giggle like its the funniest thing.
The time before (a few weeks before that)...we were all HOME..someone else tried to go into our apt.....i open the door and the thug-dude is playing dumb like he wanted to go to the other neighbors and got the wrong door.
At this point we just thought they're on crack or whatever...didnt take it THAT seriously.
() Today i sit here..and notice its very DIM here, only my PC on and small light. So from outside it actually looks like noone's home. There is a bar on sliding-door to "cramp/fix" the door shut...for some reason we forgot to fix it.
Anyway *of course* the door is locked as they are 100% of the time, except that bar which was not in place.
My GF is back at her parent's....so i hear a noise on the sliding door, someone tries to OPEN that sliding door while i am sitting here barely 8 ft away from the door !! The third time now someone tries to open our door(s), this time the big glass sliding door. (Before they just checked whether the main door was locked or not)
I rush to the door and wipe away the blinds and look right into his face....some hooded thug...i hope i scared the SH** out of him...anyway he was waving at me like a retard and made off.
I called my GF and told her...and she says to call the cops. I would do that in a heartbeat...but the point is we're basically almost moved out...and i dont trust either the neighbors...nor the cops.
If i call the cops and they check out the neighbors the thugs might find some stupid excuse and play dumb....and i might have a problem identifying the exact one...maybe it is only a friend of theirs
Then the cops might leave...and i sit there with the thugs neighbors right to the side my apt hating me because i called the cops and planning revenge or whatsoever. (Yes i am paranoid 🙂 )
What would speak against them beating me up or even use a gun or whatnot. I do NOT have one..actually now i wish i had one in the house just to feel safer.
