I also hate people who don't get into the intersection to make a left hand turn. They just sit behind the line and wait, when if they just drove 10 feet forward they could legally turn when the light is turning red.
That is quite dangerous, and illegal in most locations.

You turn when the light is yellow after making sure there is no oncoming traffic. That's entirely legal as you entered the intersection when the light was green. BTW, if you do this make sure you keep your tires straight until you're ready to go through; otherwise getting rear-ended pushes you into oncoming traffic.
1) If there was enough time to pass while yellow, then it wouldn't matter if they pulled up or not - they'd have time to turn. You can sit behind the crosswalk and wait until the yellow and turn if there is that much time (10 extra feet won't change the picture).
2) Thus we are only talking about when there isn't enough time to turn while yellow.
3) So that means you want people to turn while red - which is illegal and dangerous.

Note: just pulling past the crosswalk and stopping hoping there will be time to turn while yellow is illegal in most locations.
I agree with all but one thing. IF you're already in the middle of the intersection and have been for a bit, and the light changes to red, you are REQUIRED to complete your turn. Otherwise you're an obstruction of traffic.

Word. I also hate gutless drivers that won't pass slow drivers. Instead they just sit there and tailgate them. I bet I average 3-5 passes a week out here, and that's just so I can go about 5 MPH over the limit.

Um.... only 3-5 passes a week? That makes you one of those gutless drivers.

I've never heard of it being illegal, but I'd love to see anything on the books concerning that.

In regards to:

1) Incorrect. If anything it would be more dangerous to start accelerating after the light turns yellow. For one thing, oncoming traffic assumes that you are not going to be turning (or that you are prevented from turning) so there is a higher likelyhood that they will continue through the yellow unexpected as opposed to braking for it to allow you to turn in advance of the red.

While I have found other drives annoying, some of you people are poster boys for road rage incidents. One side effect of 9/11 was that people became courteous for their fellow human being for a brief moment there. I think people realized there is more to life then that damn 2 minutes you might save if that person in front of you would get out of your #%)(#@%* way.

My view, chill out and mind your own driving.

Well, I probubly would mind my own driving if said slowa** individual wasn't putting me at risk of having another car shoved up my a** because the guy in front of me is going too slow and blocking traffic. If they'd learn to accelerate like they should and go the speed limit, those issues would be mostly resolved. You'll still find an idiot or two who will still find some stupid reason to ram you from behind, such as talking on a cell phone and not paying attention. But if you accelerate quickly and are doing the speed limit, the chances of that are greatly reduced.

I hate it when people turning left onto a highway have heavy traffic coming from the right, but no traffic from the left... so they turn into the center turn lane and wait for traffic to clear up. Or they do that, then they drive in the center lane and match the speed of traffic so they can merge. Man that pisses me off, especially when I'm coming the in other direction and I'm going to turn across traffic.
