People so seriously need to learn to accelerate.

This has become somewhat of a pet peave of mine. Come up to an intersection, joe dorkwad is in front of you. Light changes, he just sits there. You beep your horn, he just sits there. Finally he realizes the light has changed and creaps through the intersection at 5mph and takes forever just to reach 45mph. You'd pass him but with traffic the way it is, there's no way you'll make it short of winning a darwin award. So you meander along behind him. Finally you're up to 45mph...1 mile later!!! WTH?? It seems that lots of people are taking forever to accelerate up to speed these days. I admire people who drive safely and within the speed limit, but for the Love of God, please learn to accelerate!! You don't need to punch the accelerator through the floor and jack rabbit out of the light, but at least have the courtesy to get up to speed fairly quickly. It should only take you a couple hundred feet to reach the speed limit, not a whole freaking mile!! Also, if the speed limit says 55, don't freaking drive 30!!! AUGH!! Also, if you're gonna pass a slower vehicle, do it quickly. Don't take all day to do it. Semi-truck drivers, this includes you. If the guy in front of you is doing a few feet per hour more than you, for crying out loud, punch it, pass him, then return to the speed limit. Don't pin in the rest of us trying to do the speed limit for 4 wheeled vehicles. (trucks are limited to 55mph in our state, cars 70mph)

Ok, that's off my chest. You may now return to your daily grind.

i hate people that wait for a parking spot in the middle of the road like there's no freakin line piling up behind them. oh ok... sorry... totally different rant but usually people that are going slow in front of me are looking for a parking spot and when they find one they stop in the middle and block everyone. :|

Yep I also hate when I'm a few cars back at a green and people are so slow to speedup that I don't make it through.

Honestly if someone blares his/her horn like you did, I'd do the same thing (as do many others). If you instead are curteous, you'll find many people will accelerate much faster.

Actually, that's been proven incorrect. A good moderate acceloration to your cruising speed is best and most fuel efficient. They even teach that in drivers ed classes. Don't jackrabbit, but don't accelorate too slowly as both use more gas than accelorating to speed in a reasonably short period of time.

Well, I only blare my horn if the light has changed and the guy has sat there a good 10-15 seconds without moving. I'm not gonna blare my horn as soon as the light changes, but if you don't get moving soon, you bet I will.

i can accept people not accelerating quickly from a stop light, but what i really really hate are people that STOP in a merge lane. they STOP and wait and wait and wait and the oncoming traffic is going 60mph so it takes them FOREVER to get in.

IF they had just accelerated and matched speed of oncoming traffic it would have been much easier AND safer to merge into the freeway, THAT'S WHY THEY ARE CALLED MERGE LANES.

God i hate those morons.

I hate it even more when they're slow... and all of a sudden speed up when they see its about to turn red... but i don't make it. :|

That may be true for you, but most people who do what you do actually hit the horn before the light changes (since they saw the other side turn red). But anytime - even 15 seconds after the green - you hit the horn you are highly likely to get punished by slow acceleration.

[joke, please don't take this the wrong way]Maybe if you used less of those Magic Mushrooms/Magic Brownies you'll find people are accelerating at the proper speed.[/joke]

What I really hate is when there's just me and one car behind me on the interstate and the other car makes some huge effort to get in front of me only to start driving slower than I was originally going! This happens to me a lot! WTF does it accomplish?!? :|

Oh yeah. That's HELLA annoying. Especially when they overtake you and then slow down so they can make a turn. I'm thinking "WTF. Just wait and you can slow down all you like you little %T&*%#^@*(&%#@(*$&@(&*(@#."

Possibly, but they establish themselves as hypocrites by having to exceed my speed to get in front of me in the first place. ;)

I hate the guys that are in a middle lane that just have to get in front of you on the feeder of a freeway even though no one is behind you and then they have to take a right turn onto a driveway.

in california if no room to pass them on the right, they may just get passed on the left
