I live in America. This forum is an American forum. I am your everyday ignorant American. Hell I tried to join the USMC. This is an American thread. If you do something different I doubt most of us give a shit. SO instead of targeting other people just to say that they are wrong is bullshit. I asked you to list the people YOU tip. I DON'T give a damn if you think it's wrong to tip some people vs others. Plus England / UK/ that place you're from sucks.

I have no interest in competing between the UK and the US etc, the reason I bring up the differences is so I can understand your culture better, I'll grant you it does often turn into a debate about what country is better but that is because americans will start hurling insults or saying something like:

On a side note you didn't ask for people I tip you asked who needs to be tipped. That is where I took issue.

If you have to ask who needs to be tipped or how much to tip, then you shouldn't be tipping. It's your money, random people on the internet shouldn't have to tell you what to do with it. You don't tip because it's the socially acceptable thing to do, you tip because you think they went above and beyond what's in their job description.

I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that the cable guy who came to my apartment 2 weeks ago expected a tip. I didn't tip the guy. I don't think cable guys need tips.

I tip at bars, restaurants, barber shops, and cabs. That's it.
