people complain about the stupidest sh**

i have to do all this bullsh** research because the assholes in this department don't like the fact that a password to an extranet site changes once a f***ing month. it's called SECURITY people. all they have to do is go to the intranet site and copy and paste the password in. if it took a blind retarded monkey more than 4 seconds to do this, i'd be surprised.

WEEEEEEE!!! You'll find idiots at every job in every situation. The best thing to do is just smile, nod, and say you'll look into it.

Try forcing them to change their own passwords once a month, and look under keyboards and such for all the post-its with passwords on them... That sucks even more.

what's even better, is when something gets hacked etc because the policy was changed so they could keep their password without changing it every 30 days, it will be your fault. And then they'll complain even more 😀

For the purpose of debate - why is it that banks only require 4 digit pin #?s and never make you change them?
I?ve never heard of anyone whose pin was hacked and I?ve never heard anyone complain about the security at their bank.
Why don?t application developers design their security process to be simple and secure like an ATM machine?

Just my $0.02

Because an ATM requires a physical card in addition to the pin and also has cameras.

Two reasons I think.
1)You have to use the card and the code in combo, so that is extra security right there.
2)(and probably the main reason) Banks don't want to deal with the customer service nightmare of thousands of their customers changing their PIN's on a regular basis, and then forgeting what they changed it to. They would need to hire new customer service people just to deal with that problem.
