<< For the purpose of debate - why is it that banks only require 4 digit pin #?s and never make you change them?
I?ve never heard of anyone whose pin was hacked and I?ve never heard anyone complain about the security at their bank.
Why don?t application developers design their security process to be simple and secure like an ATM machine?

Two reasons I think.
1)You have to use the card and the code in combo, so that is extra security right there.
2)(and probably the main reason) Banks don't want to deal with the customer service nightmare of thousands of their customers changing their PIN's on a regular basis, and then forgeting what they changed it to. They would need to hire new customer service people just to deal with that problem.
