I didn't say I wanted you to shut up & respect me more...I said I don't like the way he was talking to other people & being condesending...But now that you've provided more information, hey, if the 3 of you want to knock each other's heads off, have at it...

I don't like seeing people being condesending & that's what I saw...I didn't see anyone else stepping up to the plate to change the scenery, so I did...

I could care less about who's overclocking more or less or whatever...That doesn't matter to me & that's not why I responded...My post wasn't directed at you anyway, so I don't know why you referenced "both of us"...

the point is that I generally do not act like that. I am usually the first one to crack a joke, and make people laugh, its been said a million times. but with some people I turn into an asshole, simply because of how they behave or how they have treated me in the past.

right now, there are very few people that are on my nerves here at AT. one of these is nemesis1, so naturally my posts towards him are going to be on the heavy side. you commented on that, and I simply told you not to do that since you don't know the reason behind my behavior.

and don't mind aigomorla, hes just trying to defend me because he knows how much grief certain people give me. he knows because hes been in the same situations.

Fair enuf...I've seen a few people being condesending towards others around here lately & I don't like it...Especially when it's towards the younger crowd...So I get a bit defensive & say something...Especially when nobody else is saying anything...So that's where I'm coming from...

As mentioned above, the 3 of you guys have a history of this kind of back & forth battle, so I let it be...We can let it rest now...

Nice system, btw...But I think you should throw some more RAM at it...lol :D

There is no problem at all in you doing that. it would be terrible if everyone talked like that on the forums. but do yourself a favor and look for some other threads that nemesis1 started, and you will understand what kind of subject we are dealing with here.

about the ram, im not surprised that suggestion is coming from someone with 8 gigs of ram, but I am still running XP x86 and running strong. 2GB of fast CL3 ram is the sweet spot for this OS. once I am inevitably forced to switch to vista, I will go x64 like you, and I will probably buy a 4GB kit of DDR3.

edit:
you also have a very nice rig, nice cpu, nice mobo, a boat load of ram, nice VGA setup too. should be a very good performer, especially at 1920x1200. what psu is that silverstone?

I was just giving you a hard time...Changing the scenery is all...Like you, I like to joke around a lot too...Especially when things get a bit too serious...

I can't wait to build my 780i system...Just kinda tired today after trying to ship out these packages & respond to everyone's requests...

Don't trip off the other situation...You & aigomorla clarified the details of the situation, so everything is cool...I have more information now & I know that's an ongoing situation...

That thread has gotten about 60 interested responses, and Jag's negative feedback.

Aigomorla is non-stop argueing with me over wolfdale overclocking. I have more WAY more respect for MARK than both of you because he has a few quadcore machines just like you two guys, and he is also active in the CPU forum, yet seldom calls someone out with quotes for bashing when they attempt overclocks.

This forum is for encouragement and overclocking like it says in the title. not calling people "little man" like aigomorla calls me (while calling his quad core a mercedes and my dual core a honda civic)

You guys grow up and help people and stop talking crap about how great your personal setups are.

Aigo I have asked you questions about prime. thats it dude. I dont "pm you and jag with tons of questions about overclocking". Also I would like to note that while JAG87 was quoting me about the 4.5ghz prime shot, It was he and Nemesis1 that were argueing about the topic when you chimed in with your "dont mind jared - hes a noob post". A little more open-mindedness would be appreciated from both of you.

Yea, I think it performs pretty well...I'm happy with it...It's the Strider 750 ST75F...Fits & works nicely...I'm putting the Strider ST1000 in the 780i system...I love the fit, finish & performance of the 750...Can't see why the 1000 will be any different...Cables are little stiff at first, but they do what I want them to do eventually...You can see pics of the system in my sig at the bottom of this page...

Nice, I wonder why I didn't see your thread... I could have given you some pointers.

First of all, I dont understand why you assumed that 780i wouldn't clock your E8400 as well as the maximus. 450x9 is easy on 780i with a dual core. easy as pie.

Second of all, I wouldn't get the strider. Its not a very good power supply. Its a good power supply, but not very good. I would opt for a Zeus 850W or Etasis 850W (which are the same power supply, not modular though I know), or if you must have modular grab an 850W or 1000W Galaxy.

I like the Striders, I have the Striders & I'm going to use the Striders...The reviews I read were pretty good & met my requirements...Modular cabling is a must, so that was a no-brainer...Your feedback is appreciated...

I don't know how the Striker II will compare to the Maximus Formula, but I'm about to find out shortly...I'll let you guys know how it goes...

Oh well if you already have them, then its ok. but know that it is a tier 4 power supply according to jonny guru. not my opinion.

looking forward to your 780i build. and by the way, don't be so sure that 9800 GTXs will support 3-way SLI. 2 way SLI for sure, but nobody knows if they will do 3-way

I never attacked you personally, I just told you many times to be more realistic with your overclocking goals. I never called your rig a honda civic, and never called you a noob or a little man.

I would appreciate if you dont put words in my mouth, thats one of those things that gets people on my black list.

Now it would make absolutely no sense whatsoever that the 9800GTX's wouldn't support Triple SLI...Not sure why you would think it wouldn't...Why would Nvidia release Triple SLI technology & not support them with products?...I bet they'll work just fine...

just like nvidia released quad SLI with the 7 series, and then completely forgot about with the 8 series? come on buddy, this isn't logic here, its nvidia were dealing with.

Nvidia ditched Quad SLI because nobody bought into it due to lack of drivers & support...I'd at least go far enough to say Nvidia has learned from that mistake...Suffice it to go an inch further & review existing benchmarks of Triple SLI in its infancy stages...Those benchmarks don't look half bad, especially when compared to what they looked like in the infant stages of Quad SLI...So, with that being said, based on today's infant drivers for Triple SLI & how good they're performing now, I think Nvidia learned from its previous mistake...

I doubt they're going to just go off & say, "Well, that Triple SLI escapade was fun while it lasted for a month, time to move onto the 10000X series of cards now."

Nvidia might not be the most logical company when it comes to meeting its consumers & enthusiasts demands, but they're not a stupid company...I'm sure they're tracking the sales of the Triple SLI boards so they can guage where the demand is...But only time will tell...Nothing is for certain until it happens...I hope they hurry up & officially announce the release of the 9800GTX...I'd be extremely pissed if my Step Up program expired...I just bought the 8800GT's this week, so I should be ok...Fingers crossed...

well they say they show them off at CEbit in march, so they should be launched by spring time. you have 90 days, that should be plenty.

I am dying as well man, I cant stand running crysis at 15 fps anymore. These GTXs can run everything like butter besides crysis, and you know what they say, you always want what you cant have, and I want crysis smooth damn it.

You want me to post all the pm's you sent me?

And yeah it was a typo, i was thinking of another friend who you pm'd a lot. Who does actually have a 4.5ghz wolfdale, and who didnt know what he was getting into while telling you all that.

Maybe i should also point this thread out you made on XS to so desperately prove me wrong?

http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...howthread.php?t=175496

Anyhow.. sorry KEYS, wont see another post like this anymore..

I don't want to be taking sides here, but does anyone else find the OP's writing style to be remarkably reminiscent of Intelia/Turtle 1?

LOL . In that survey. I didn't think the 8 Wolfs running at 4.6GHz was as Odd as the The ones that couldn't do 3.6 ghz and lower. To many O/C out their just pushing in the Voltage. Your suppose to go Up in small steps.

At TI we had a saying regarding those "outlier" speedbin chips - they demonstrate "capability" for the technology node and chip design.

Yes they are rare, that's what being beyond +3sigma gets you, but it shows you what is possible and once you know what is possible then you reset your objective (product group management wise) on getting yields up at that bin so that the once possible but improbable becomes the every-day.

The problem I see comes from the sometimes intentional misrepresentation of cherry-picked chips as being an already every-day before their time has actually come.

LOL this thread is so fun to read. :D And I thought Intelia was a girl?

Anyway, I do like forum soap opera but I think this thread dangerously getting close to being a cat fight.. I vote for a lock as well.
