Hahahaha, that has to be the worst lawyer in the world to allow that interview.
This. What the hell is wrong with his lawyer? Seriously. If/when he goes to prison, I think the other inmates will "shower" with him, "hug" him, and "touch" his "legs", but of course with no "sexual intent."
I thought it was basic methodology to hire fancy lawyers and stonewall and hope the prosecution screws up. Only after a verdict do you write a book or give interviews.
From the outside looking in, it does look like there might be more to it. He got investigated in 1998, lost his def coordinator job in 1999 at age 55 way before retirement age even though he was one of the best ones in the country. Then, no job offers from anyone anywhere. Kind of weird.
Even if that was all, most normal people know it's a bad idea to go around showering and touching naked kids' legs. And then to keep doing it after admitting it was wrong.
? I missed the news who is this?
I haven't been following that closely, but I vaguely remember there was the prosecutor who had the evidence originally that went missing and/or went dead. Then, no one else followed up with criminal charges after that.
Also, due process is for the courts. Public opinion, covered by the first amendment, is easily swayed however people want, especially with media coverage. Freedom of expression cuts both ways. The PSU admins most likely are not going to jail and aren't getting their legs touched. Tons of people (off the top of my head, guys like Bonds and Clemens and to a lesser extent Woods) get bad public opinion, fair or not, before any type of big trial.
If they didn't want the bad PR for whatever that's worth, they could have taken further steps years ago before it exploded. It's just a calculated risk the whole department knowingly took with positive financial benefits at the time and the bad consequences that would naturally follow if it ever came out.
