no problem. If this is your line of thinking i doubt you would get a degree anyway.

IF are in a position of hiring and you refuse to hire someone from Penn state you should be fired. There are 4 people who caused this mess. there are thousands of people associated with Penn state.

If you can't separate the issue from the students you have problems.

To each his own. I, for one, would select an alternative school. I do not wish to invest my time and money to have this branded on my resume for the rest of my life. Like it or not, Penn State (aka Ped State) is synonomous with institutionalized pedophilia now. Sorry.

After the report was released, we instructed our attorneys and their experts to conduct a comprehensive review of the materials released by the Freeh Group as well as Mr. Freeh's presentation and press conference. We have also asked them to go beyond the report and identify additional information that should be analyzed. And we have asked the Freeh Group to preserve all records, notes and other materials related to the investigation and the presentation of their findings as we expect they will be the subject of great interest in the future.

Translation: We [Paterno family] are going to make our (versus an unbiased, independent group like Freeh) attorneys and "experts" rich in order to put our spin on the story that will make our beloved JoePa look like a hero. The Freeh emails were all a lie and shouldn't be counted as evidence!

Hmmm... investigation done by a third party hired by the university or investigation done by a third party hired by the family?

the investigation done by university is far more believable. why? it didn't paint Penn state in a good light.

I don't expect the family's to be the same.

Of course they won't. He's family. If it turned out that your father, unbeknownst to you, had engaged in this sort of behavior, would you immediately start hating him? Hopefully not. Human emotions are complex things, and most people can't just flip an emotional switch when confronted with evidence that goes against decades of their own personal recollections. The family is never going to be convinced that JoePa was a monster because they all have their own personal interactions with him that were different than what the Freeh report was focusing on. Doesn't make them wrong, nor does it forgive Paterno for what he did.

But they are being a bit irrational by insisting on dragging this out with a secondary investigation. Best case scenario, the findings are different, in which case everyone will assume they're doctoring the data since they have a vested interest in clearing Paterno's name. There's literally nothing to gain from this.

Ouch, this is what happens when you stood up to Paterno...

http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/15/us/triponey-paterno-penn-state/index.html?hpt=hp_c3

/whoops beaten to the punch

She received threatening phone calls at home when her husband was traveling and was savaged on student message boards. Her house was vandalized and "For Sale" signs were staked in her front yard. By the time police installed surveillance cameras, she was already on her way out.
Spanier came to her home and sat in her living room after Paterno lost his temper at the meeting about the players involved in the brawl. She said he told her, "Well, Vicky, you are one of a handful of people, four or five people, who have seen the dark side of Joe Paterno. We're going to have to do something about it."
She shakes her head, recalling that conversation now. "'Doing something about it,'" she says, "ended with me being gone."
Citing "philosophical differences," Triponey resigned under pressure as the 2007 football season got under way. Unlike Sandusky, convicted last month of 45 counts of molesting young boys, she did not receive a $168,000 golden handshake, prime football seats for life or keys to the locker room.

Most likely PSU zealots whose fan-boi-dom was instilled at a very early age by their fcktard parents who thought school spirit was more important than morals. Somewhat similar to generational racism.

well its pretty clear now sandusky has been fucking little boys in the ass for over 40 years, all under the protection of the penn state football program. i think its time we did another round of atom bomb testing, this time on the east side.

worry not.

As soon as pledge season kicks in at PSU's rival goat-fucking and beer-schwilling greek institutions this September, that statue will enjoy a non-stop vandalism spree until it is removed.

I doubt they will permanently remove the statue. He's been revered too long by too many people and imo most penn staters will choose to look at the positive side of his football career over his role in this scandal. I wouldn't be surprised if they move it to somewhere that it won't be defaced as easily, perhaps indoors.

Do we have any ATOT'ers who are registered for the Fall semester at Penn State this year? Just curious.

I hope that Penn State's football program is shut down. I always hated the idiotic overemphasis on college football in the US, and this scandal just shows how corrupting it can be.
