The problem is Trump vacillates between "we've secured the border SO TREMENDOUSLY!" and "we need a giant wall or else the border will never be secure." Take Trump out of any meetings, negotiations and decision making and we might get somewhere
The reason that Trump surrounds himself with phony crises isn't because he wants to suppress legitimate discussion per se, but because that tactic is the art of the deal. That is how con men get people to buy, ie act now or you'll regret it forever. So everything is drama and fear and big words. Because he is sellin' it, the world's best high pressure used car salesman, in the White House.

the fact that Trump is like Midas. Too bad you cant see all the good happening. Your distorted beliefs don't change the facts no matter what you think.
Are you capable of communicating outside of buzzwords and empty rhetoric?
If there's all this good happening, then you should have no trouble telling us what that good is.
If that person's beliefs are distorted, then you should be able to explain - accurately - how their beliefs are false.
Absent that, your posts just look like bullshit and namecalling, and people are reacting to them accordingly.

Wow you are such the mind reader. Therein lies your liberal downfall. You are given direct facts and you still THINK you know the opposite to be true. Stop creating your own world and being pissed at everything. Try not to be jealous because Tom or Jane have nice houses and cars.Be happy for them and just maybe you can see good in the world again.

Funny....you posted nothing factual. I did and yet you responded by being an asshole instead of addressing the FACTS that Congressional Republicans overwhelmingly voted to REDUCE LEGAL IMMIGRATION by 40% this year, and will reduce legal immigration more next year. That was your original point, wasn't it? That the Repubs and the Administration just want to stop illegal immigration and not legal immigration, right?

So, any facts to support your fanciful claim or are you just going to show your ass more than you already have?

I enjoy my modest, completely paid for house, cars, truck, motorcycle, bicycles, and boat.....actually completely debt free, outside taxes.

Some showoff of my crap that makes me wish I had nice stuff:

Actually, I really hate being goaded into responding to a tramp like you, toothless. And making me go all showoff and all. C'est la vie. But you're right....I am so jealous of everyone else's nice stuff....makes me wish I had some nicer things. ;)

BTW....how's your single wide holding up these days?

My dad always said that the two happiest days in a fisherman's life is the day he buys his own boat and the day he can find some other sucker to sell it to.

Actually, that's only reality for an inboard/outboard. With those, the spending never really stops. New gimbal bearings, bellows, heat exchangers, hoses, belts, having to winterize the damned thing, and on and on. Essentially it's a car/truck engine in the boat and has routine engine maintenance like a car's engine plus the marine specific crap. Changing the engine's oil is usually a challenge and a mess. I've owned one in my life and never will again.

An outboard, on the other hand, requires very little spending......new water pump every two years, plugs every two years, new lower unit grease (change when replacing water pump), and that's about it. No specific winterizing (outboards don't hold water like I/O's do, so no antifreeze, etc.), although most in northern climes do fog the cylinders with oil before putting them up for the winter, which I don't do. There are enough days during the winter that are warm enough to take it out, so I just end up running it all year. I keep a trickle charger on the batteries in winter but other than that, no change at all between winter and summer running for me.

Can't think of much else in maintenance that's routine for me.....carpet's good, upholstery is good, gauges all work, batteries are only few years old, trolling motor I put on 4 years ago. Maybe new tires on the trailer every few years. Wash it monthly. Rinse it off after every use. The boat sits, ready for use darned near at the drop of a hat.....can be hooked up and off in 5 minutes.

The motor's a two-stroke and oil injected, so no mixing oil and gas. Electronic ignition. 115hp Johnson V-4 w/stainless prop, the boat's a Javelin 17.5' fish and ski. Have had it at 53mph per GPS, only myself on board.

I live off Lake Hartwell in NE GA and within 15 min. of about 8 boat ramps. Fishing's good....stay mostly on Hartwell although I do go down to Clark's Hill Lake, just above Augusta. I grew up spending every summer on that lake.....I grew up with a boat in the family, so I suppose it's just not much of an issue for me.

And all the maintenance the boat/motor requires is done by myself. Changing water pump is quite simple once you do it for the first time. Spark plugs are spark plugs.....10 min. job if I take a 5 min. break.

I just cannot imagine living without a boat. I'm sure when I hit my 80's I'll probably have to give it up at that point, but for now.....at least for me there's little better in life than cruising the lake. Very relaxing, away from everything. Only the water and you. Darned relaxing.

Damn....now I want to go out and it's pitch black outside and raining and cold. Drat! But it's supposed to be in the low 60's next week and sunny.....I know where I'll be for a couple of days. And it's not stuck in a cubicle.

This one my mother put in my homework when I was in the gifted program in school...

Although the best Far Side moment for me wasn't one of the comics. The old cartoon Dark Wing Duck did an episode with these space cows. The cows they said were from the planet Larson on the far side of the galaxy.

Best reference ever.

Another side to this is discussed in this editorial I just read.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...6a6f3ce8199_story.html?utm_term=.e58beb52e2bc

He says that the dems have in effect cancelled their leverage with Trump by refusing to provide wall funding under any circumstances. This is the meat of it here:

So, have the dems decided that it's actually better policy wise to deny $5 billion to start wall construction than to legalize 2 million dreamers? Or have they, instead, decided as a political calculus that it is better to prevent Trump from delivering on his signature promise, so that they can nail him over it in 2020? If so, arguably it looks like GOP obstructionism under Obama.

I'm opposed to the wall, but I'm starting to think they should cut a deal for the dreamers here. Even if you just want to look at this cynically as pure politics, who do you think these dreamers are going to be voting for once they're legal?

Trump isn't offering that kind of deal. He's not even offering to release the hostages, just to postpone their fate for 3 years. Given his fundamental dishonesty, there's no point in giving him anything until he & the GOP deliver on their promises through legislation.
