Pelosi elected Speaker as expected

Right now Pelosi is probably the best choice if she doesn't sell us out. She knows how to get shit done and is why Trump and his fans should be fearful. Pelosi came out and said that Trump can be indicted, that there is no legal basis about it. The House is giving Mueller everything discovered including what Nunes tried to hide.

So expect the Dems will have a chat with the SDNY/Mueller about all of this including indictment and they'll have to do better than say "well there's a memo".

Remember, Mueller is still limited in scope based on the AG. He cant just investigate anything.
 
There ya go again, thinking this will happen. I wish it would honestly, it’d prove to everyone that no one is above the law. Pipe dreams though and politicians are selling it to ya. Presidents don’t go to jail.

I'm suggesting that will be the case, however Mueller doesn't need to ignore anything. If it falls within the scope of his mandate of things which are discovered during his investigation, he can use evidence provided by the House. If these are unrelated he can do what he did with Cohen and refer it to the proper AG office. He wouldn't be investigating automatically, he'd be passing things to others to determine if and how to proceed.

Congratulations on trying to establish a baseless trope. Our AG will be working on serving justice to Trump and other than begging the question you haven't given any mechanism that will prevent NY from investigating, filing charges as appropriate, and eventually sentencing and imprisoning Trump. Your basis saying Presidents don't go to jail is to say Presidents don't go to jail. That's a fail.

I have problems with Pelosi.
During the Obama healthcare thing Pelosi promised a national healthcare option or better knows as medicare for all would be included. THAT never happened.
Then, she promised Hillary would easily win. THAT TOO never happened.
I just think she's not very good at predicting, especially predicting things that democrats in the house can control.
I suppose she's ok as a person, but she seems pretty sure of predicting outcomes that never transpire.
And now they want to pass bills to reopen the government and they know damn well their efforts will go absolutely nowhere because FYI Nancy... republicans still control the senate. So I mean, whats the use? Really?
Just to pass something to make republicans look bad? A little egg on their face? To look like the villains in all of this keeping the government shut down?
This is the thing.... haven't we all had enough of this power bull shet, the playing the little political games that offer nothing for Mr and Mrs public?

The only hope I see coming out of all this is Cruz and his term limits bill could actually becoming law i.e. amending the constitution.
But in all reality it is the very people like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Grassley, two very powerful politicians, they would NEVER allow term limits to happen.
Never never never....
And people wonder why no one pays attention or bothers to vote.
So..... I predict 2020 will have the lowest voter turnout going back years and years.
Possibly decades.
By the time 2020 rolls around, absolutely no one will give a damn.

I suspect the people not getting paid consider the Democrats first action upon taking over the House to get the government open a bit more then ice cream

Mueller is vastly too professional to demand ANY political act in return for a plea deal. That would be a horrifying overreach of the role of law enforcement and of his job as a special prosecutor. There is no chance whatsoever Mueller would entertain such a thing. This is how I've felt about all of these "just walk away" scenarios with Mueller as Lord Humungus. Not to mention, even a hint in that direction would immediately substantiate every Trumpist crank and trollbot who's been squawking all along that the whole thing is a massive conspiracy to unseat a president for political reasons. Anything to validate the conspiracy theory, and nowadays that's all that matters.

Trump will not resign, and he cannot be convicted in the Senate. Odds are good the world is stuck with him until January 2021
 
It's amusing how the GOP played up AOC as the face of radical leftist Democrats & got let down when AOC voted for Pelosi. Now they'll be trolling us with how AOC isn't a real progressive...
