oh i know
problem is he owns partially the doom ip did you know that?(we know since doom 3 actually)
also he is actually saying what everyone knows already unless you think that bad perfomance is because of the drivers (also there is the odd question as to why they use 4.3 open gl for amd and not the 4.5 while on nvidia they use the 4.5 path)

The Doom IP was sold along with id Software, Carmack owns nothing but the big pile of cash he got for selling his stake in the company.

Its not a Gameworks game. It is just optimized for nVidia, too. We saw this with Anno2205: A PC developer who cares about the PC plattform.

That's the simple reason why those games run und look fantastic while others games (Hitman, Ashes etc.) are just a joke in contrast.
i will just keep that statement when it comes with vulkan

i dont think he actually sold it (would be stupid it can bring a lot of money since he basicly made doom 4 (well to be honest it was almost going to be another hl3) )

ZeniMax media bought id Software a while ago. Do you think that ZeniMax would have paid all this money and not secured full rights to the Doom IP?

Please, just stop.

A source would go a long way vs righteous indignation.

What you are asking me for is a source for 1+1 = 2. It's by definition.

If a company acquires another company, it generally acquires all of the assets of that company. In fact, the only reason id Software was valuable to anybody was due to the Doom/Quake/Wolfenstein intellectual priperties.

Why would anybody pay $105 million (what ZeniMax borrowed to buy id) just for a development team? No, ZeniMax was buying the full rights to do whatever it wanted with the Doom, Quake, and Wolfenstein IPs for that money.

Carmack isn't seeing a thin dime from future sales of id Software titles, that's what selling the company and all of its assets implies.

Let me guess, just another game that runs better on NVIDIA HW, therefore there must be some sort of conspiracy going on. On the other hand if it was running better on AMD HW it would be a proof of their superior architecture, etc.. Where did I see this before?? Mmhhh 🙂

Spot on. 😉

Defacto strategy around here. Game is great, getting a lot of positive reception, but tanks on AMD/NV so clearly inferior product. :/

But hopefully with AMD's improved driver team, they'll fix it before the end of the week/month!

EDIT: Mainstream gamer Gaf reporting on AMD woes. Welps, there goes the neighborhood.
