Good work! I started a similar diet about 2 years ago and have gone from 282 lbs to 225 lbs. Those last 25 lbs don't want to go away.

If you like cereal I'd recommend Uncle Sam with a little Splenda on top or a sliced up banana (high in Potassium, good for the heart). Whole grain oatmeal with a bit of Splenda and banana or raisins is also a great breakfast as well.

Extra virgin olive oil is your cooking friend, as well.

Thanks guys for your support and encouragement. I could use all I can get ATM. Lost 3lbs this week.

Once you get on a roll it's just so motivating to keep going. I'm down over 20 pounds now and still going and it blows my mind that I've dropped that sack of potatoes off already. Keep it up! 😀

Also your OP is funny, I call my diet "The Fatboy Diet" too

How long do you ride your bike for? At your size you should be able to burn almost all your water weight off real quick, then the fat will come right after it if you keep your diet and exercise up. I can get down to 220 really really easily, everything after 220 is hard for me to lose, I'm 6'2" but I have a huge frame, legs, chest, shoulders. I'd like to get down to 200 flat, but it's pretty hard for me to do since I haven't been 200lbs since I was 17 and those days I had time to hit the gym 5 days a week for 3-4 hrs a day 😛 Would LOVE to be in the kind of shape I used to be in for highschool sports ;P

Great work PC. You said you already notice changes in your body...that is GREAT motivation to see your work paying off! WTG and keep it up man-

Uh, sweating has nothing to do when you start to burn fat. You want to stay hydrated during your exercises. You stay hydrated and lose fat. You don't let yourself lose a bunch of water weight thinking that it's the first thing to go before you start burning fat. Where did you get that idea from? You don't burn water for energy 😵 The weight on the scale doesn't matter. Unless you're cutting for a competition you absolutely don't want to lose any water weight and even then it's ridiculous and dangerous.

Congratulations. It seems like you've made eating properly a habit. I have faith that you'll keep it up longer than someone crash dieting, hopefully for the rest of your life.

I just took a quick look at this thread through PC's sig in another subforum.

I've got to say, the amount of awesome in this thread is...well...awesome 🙂.

I had a couple friends who were doing something very similar to what youre doing. One in particular, was somewhere in the 300 area at the end of that school year. I didn't see him all summer. When I ran into him the next year in sept, I quite literally didn't recognize the guy who was running up and saying hi to me. And trust me, if he can do it, I know for a fact that anyone can...and from the looks of this thread, it looks like you're well on your way too.

Keep this updated man, I'd like to keep my eye on it this summer.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will continue this until the goal weight is reached. I would have updated already for this week but I haven't been able to get to the gym to weigh myself. As soon as I do though I will. Although it looks like I'm gonna have to combine the two weeks and split them for the average loss per week.

Update: From May 26th to June 5th I've only lost 1lb. This is infuriating. I know why its only 1lb in 10 days though. I ate too much flat bread, two slices a day for like 4-5 days straight. I know I can't do that anymore so bye bye flat bread for a while. Disappointed in that I allowed myself to stray from my eating habits.🙁 I'll use this to strengthen my resolve.

I'll update the OP on Monday with an average weekly loss for the past two weeks.

You'll have weeks where you gain a pound or two as well, it's just the nature of things. Don't get discouraged, whether the scale says you've gone up or down in weight, you're eating healthier and that's hugely important.

Update: Combining the last two weeks, the total weight lost is 3lbs. This is ok, but I am really happy by reaching one of the smaller goals I set. I am UNDER the 300lbs MARK!!!! 😀

Just read this thread-that is a heck of a dramatic change in your diet. While you are jusfiably proud of reaching your < 300 lb milestone, I'd suggest an even bigger milestone is that you have stuck with this diet for two full months now. Great job!

Awesome stuff. I did a diet last year starting in Jan for about 13 weeks and went from 22%body fat down to 7.8% (188lbs down to 161lbs). I'm about 5'9.5".

At some point when you do excersise, carbs will be vital. Just remember that.

Yeah, I've been thinking of getting a bike and riding it at nights after work. The carbs I still want to keep low so my body will burn the abundance of fat surrounding my bones 😛

Hence the "at some pont" caveat 😉 Any bike yet? You should really consider adding it in as excersise will really help you out.

Update, lost another 3lbs this week for a total of 26lbs in 9 weeks.

As for the bike, no I haven't gotten one yet. My work gives me some exercise & my results from my diet reinforces the new habits that I have. When I feel the need I will start more exercise to continue my weight loss. Thanks for the encouragement guys. 🙂

Good job so far! If you can, spare some time for lifting as more muscle mass = more fat burning 🙂

I am 102 kg at 189 cms (225 lbs, 6'2") and need to get down to my usual weight of 90 kgs... going for a 2 month vacation next month to our house at the beach so i hope lots of surfing will trim me down to my usual.
