You have no clue to what extent a company like PC Power & Cooling has over what Seasonic builds for them!

You seem to have forgotten the important noun in that sentence, but regardless there's no need to pretend when we have past examples where there was clearly not a PC P&C design, it was a Seasonic design. Are you accusing Seasonic of stealing PC P&C design for their own units? It'd seem so, as a design doesn't merely cover the capacitor brand- what you propose that PC P&C specifies.

Its idiotic to make this statement --

You have already established you can't think logically. That nonsense about "wish" was a pretty obvious indicator. Writing idiotic won't support your argument either. Quit while you're only a little behind.

Actually its quite obvious by your diatribe you have gone over the deep end-- now you are putting words that were never said or suggested in my mouth--

I replied directly to what you wrote. It doesn't get more applicable than that. Perhaps we can all chip in and buy you a mouse with a scroll wheel, so you can more easily go back and read what you wrote?

Posted by mindless1 - Are you suggesting they'd refuse to sell me one? Are you suggesting we're all too poor?
I can see how you might get confused if this is the thought process behind it all.

You freinds should be proud of the case you made!!

Nice name by the way..lol

Perhaps you are a child that is easily rattled by names. So you think what wounds you, would wound another? Sadly you have not seen much in the world if you feel this does anything but reflect poorly upon you.

Why did you start the tread? Is there really any place where your style of argument is productive?

your style if argument is based on no knowledge and mistatements?
such as.....

All the way down means not so much in this case. So they say "use this brand of caps", big deal. They do not design, so sorry but that's silly. Any kid can open any psu and swap different caps in.

lol...think about it....your statements bear no seblance of truth......

If you read the thread you would ubderstand why the thread was started....
But i guess you also need to be able to comprehend.
Thus the nice nik--- mindless1!! :D

Yes, you're a fanboi that sneaks around to alternate forums trying to soothe your ego. What a waste, of both our time.

This is exactly why I use Powmax PSU's, I am 100% positive they make their own power supplies. Unlike these "big" companies.

I read this thread, well sorta. What I got from it was if you're a PP&C fan, you're really a Seasonic fan, because they make PP&C PSU's.

My Powmax is 550 watts and cost me 20 bucks! Let's see the smarty pants CEO of PP&C respond to that! "best price per watt" psu my ass!

And my Ultra X-Finity cost me nothing for a 500 Watts PSU ;), and its stable under gaming on my AM2 rig with an X850XT PE. I also do not keep a PSU for over a year so I dont care for dying caps after a long time.

I'd like to see you 'swap different caps in' Dr. Einstein.

I was about to say that

Actually, anyone with basis knowledge of electronics knows how to "swap caps". I was doing this simple thing when I was in the Navy in the early '60's.
Do any of you "Gurus" know how to use a soldering iron & basic test equipment?

I wouldn't hesitate to say that most people with general electronic knowledge would be able to swap caps.

No "GURU" but I have done it.
I do not have an ESR meter yet but do have a decent Hakko Station.
Read well in the forums at http://www.badcaps.net/
You must register to see attachments ;) Great bunch of guys over there...You betcha!
The average age of the techs at badcaps is about 35+years. Several techs have been at it

It's so difficult, people have only been doing it for years.

But...think about the majority of users...they won't replace anything. They'll say "x company sucks cause their PSU went out on me." and they'll go to frys or somewhere and buy something else.

And the comment to say "kid" is a bit much.

You have an X-Fi in your sig, so read this thread in total :p

trodas does run 8 quiet rigs in one room, so he does stress caps with higher than normal temps.
JamiCon are not good caps and to have them populating a $100~$200 sound card is a crying shame. ;)

PS: The emails are legit but the spin pcp&c put on it is total BS.

Interesting read, although I don't really know why people are so anti pcp&C.
Think about it.. nvidia and Ati do not mnfr. in house, it's nothing new.

You don't get it...Do you.

pcp&c does offer VG units. They are highly over rated imo.
They offer great customer support and fantastic marketing.
I have never needed customer support with Fortron, Zippy/Emacs or Enhance ;) So why
pay for it up front.

Cliffs? No! Not for the lazy :p

PC P&C is among the very best. If they took the price on every unit down $30-$50, I would recommend nothing but PC P&C supplies.

I think PC P&C is overrated. Then again, I've been lucky to have an Antec (channel well OEM) True430W that's lasted about 5 years with NO problems in 4 systems.

Driving an X850XT, 2.4GHz A64, and your standard other PC components

As for bad caps... replacing caps is not bad if you have a soldering iron (not a gun, gun = not precise)

This reminds me my P4 might be having errors because of the motherboard... might have to check those caps!

LMAO this whole episode is just too funny. Especially the CEO of PC P&C.
We want to thank this forum for bringing a severe violation to our attention that we were unaware of..
Seasonic?s unauthorized 750 project will be dead within 24 hrs..

nVidia and ATI do the design work on the actual chips (and reference boards, I believe) in-house. They just outsource the actual manufacturing. A number of chip manufacturers do this (they're known as "fabless" companies), although in the long run I don't personally love the strategy.

AFAICT, PC Power & Cooling more or less hands an OEM a spec and has that OEM do the brunt of the design work. There's nothing especially unique about this. People just get riled up by PC P&C for the way they portray themselves.

I could personally care less. They're good units, though not great value. If people want to buy them, that's their choice. I built a system with a PC P&C Silencer a while back (Other People's Money), worked like a champ.

Not really. If anything, a kid's smaller hands would be a benefit. Desoldering some throughhole components and replacing them is not a large task at all. No grand amount of skill or experience is needed.

Not true at all...but hey no sense arguing about...

You say its a fact...i say you have no clue?

Since you say its a fact...please provide documented proof?
