Remember guys, there was a rumor a few weeks ago that one very surprising and unlikely team would make a play for Manning, but the rumor didn't name the team. I'd wager it is the Cowboys or maybe the Ravens, especially if Wayne goes with him as expected.

Wouldn't you honestly rather he retire?

I really, really hate seeing player play past their prime.

You actually believed him?

What I honestly believed was that Irsay was told by the doctors that there was no way Manning could be even close to ready or cleared to play football by the March 8 deadline, so Irsay made the statement "Peyton will be a Colt if he is healthy" thinking there was no way it would happen. However, it did happen so Irsay needs to keep his word and renegotiate a contract with him.

:'( :'( :'( Forgive me, let me regain my composure....:'( :'( :'(

I'll be the first in line to get a Luck jersey, and I'll be the first in line to get a Manning jersey for whatever team grabs him, even if that team is the Pats (who wise up and get an upgrade at QB).

Were OK at QB, Brady makes a mistake now and again but he carried the worst pass D in the history of the league all the way to the SB, our off season needs are a deep threat besides a TE and something that resembles a secondary. Miami would be a perfect fit for Manning, they played hard all last year and have a respectable defense. Interesting who and how much money will be thrown at Manning to get him to sign, certainly Jacksonville could use him AND he would get to play his old team twice a year but that's a horrible franchise overall so I doubt that scenario..

If the Niners got Peyton, they're the best team in the league. Green Bay's pretty solid too, and you obviously have to give props to the defending champ Giants, but I think the Niners with an elite quarterback are unbeatable.

Imagine if the 9ers got wayne too. Heck, if the 9ers only got wayne, or any other good WR.

Psssst -- it was a joke.

I think there is another team out there that will make a play for him that no one expects. Keep an eye on the Cowboys and Ravens.

Why would it be the Ravens?
Joe Flacco still has 1 more year on his contract.
The coaches are firing up some injured reserve players to free up space. So far, they've saved $14.5 million.

The Ravens are a great QB and a solid receiver away from winning multiple Super Bowls. Manning and Wayne would fill that gap. Their defense is aging and the window is closing fast and Manning and Wayne could be the missing ingredients.

The rumor is that Wayne and Manning prefer to stay together.
That is true, but we need a good WR play maker as well. Wayne might not have the speed but he knows Manning.

The only reason they couldn't do well is the rest of the team would have to learn THEIR offensive system.

I haven't noticed any slowdown in the performance of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, or Terrell Suggs.

No. Their only missing ingredient is a better kicker.

I thought the cardinals had faith in Kevin Kolb

If they sign Manning, I am going to search for the thread where I made fun of the Cardinals for getting ripped off on Kolb and all the people who jumped my case and send them a friendly "I told you so."

Unlikely, Cowboys seem content with Romo at the moment and the fact that Flacco played decent in the AFC championship game helps him.

Manning at 50% is still a top 10 QB in the NFL.

Put him on a team like the Ravens, where he doesn't really have to carry the offense to 28+ points to win. Where he's got a pretty good running game. Could be really, really, good combination. 'course that means the Ravens are essentially writing off Flacco, but whatever.

Agreed, what a joke. Giving up draft picks, a ton of money and DRC was just plain dumb for someone that was still unproven.

One thing's for sure, he's going to lead the league in getting 'roughing the passer' calls. lol just kidding it will still be Brady.
