Paypal is stupid. I have a question

I have a bank account in paypal. It's set as primary but my bank closed it months ago due to inactivity. I also have one-time use credit card numbers throughout my paypal account. One such number expires 10/2009 and is setup as my secondary source, even though it actually has no money left in it.

So I made a purchase using my expired bank account as funding source and this tapped-out number as the secondary (oops). Payment went through instantly, but I know the bank account is dead, even though the idiotic customer service lady did not seem to understand that although paypal has this as active, the account no longer exists (she simply could not understand this, insisting it was active because paypal said it was even though I said my bank closed it). Also, she didn't understand the idea behind one-time use credit cards with a limit (which is tapped out).

So, if anybody here knows what will happen to my payment once my bank account, which doesn't exist, cannot fund and the credit card number, which is tapped out, cannot fund it, please let me know. I've contacted the ebay seller to let them know there may be a problem, but paypal customer service appears to know absolutely nothing.

Probably just a negative balance on your paypal account till you get it fixed, but I dont know from personal experience.

Knowing Paypal, they will probably send over their mafia guys to eat your children.

Your Paypal account will most likely just show a negative balance and your account will be limited for the time being until you provide them with their money. That's if things go well though. The seller might still file a claim against you and more chaos will ensue.

Leave Paypal now, while you still can. I should have listened to everyone before hand. It's not a matter of if you'll get screwed by them, it's a matter of when.

I'm not so sure PayPal is the stupid one here.

Paypal won't give anyone funds if they did not get them from somewhere first. The seller will not get anything from you.

BTW... did you move to Nigeria?

So... how's any of this PayPal's fault again?

it'll probably show as a bad check against the closed account and you'll get arrested for check fraud

i recommend not using that paypal account, open a new one with a real bank account attached
