League so far has been decent for me. I've had some consistent drops so far in the neighborhood of 200c. I'm already on a 6L, helm enchant and my map starter gear. I'm at T7 maps right now and should be finishing those and T8 up tonight. I'll probably try Uber lab tonight as well. I was trying to get most of the trials myself but I keep getting the same ones over and over again.

I think the league mechanic was well done aesthetically. The zones, npc+voice and overall additions seem well done especially after they patch out the few bugs. However, the drops feel like we're back in Bestiary. Random drops with random locked stats and the Synthesizer creates implicits randomly off the affix list of the items put in. Just like Bestiary where the recipe seemed good but the rng output was too much. Delve was much better with the target crafting.

Yes, is six link. Mods are:
+13 STR
+65 max life
+41 max mana
12.3 life regen
38% fire resist
reflect 16 physical damage to melee attack

302 armor, 59 energy shield. Is a rare chain mail.

My solution too was going to be sell it to get money for the chest piece you need for the build you want to play.

This league start has gone about the same way as all of my league starts in that I remain incapable of sticking to one character/build. My bane/soulrend trickster is the furthest at Act 8, but I've got a fireball trickster, DI inq and fire totems chieftain all rolling as well. It's a vice that honestly makes playing the first few days of the league kind of useless (since I don't take advantage of the early-league economy).

So far as it goes, the build-your-own-map league mechanic seems fine, but the reward structure is such that I'm finding it far less compelling than the last few leagues. It's entirely likely that there are nuances I haven't picked up on yet (I have no idea how the fractured items influence the synthesized result), but I'm running right past Cavas as often as not.

I'm really not liking the league mechanic too much. Maybe it will be get better when I get to mapping (if I get there) but it's a lot of micromanaging and thus far, and from what I'm reading on reddit, the synthesizing recipes have not been cracked yet. No good gear is coming out of the crafting yet. I have like 6 tabs dedicated just to piling up gear to take to the synthesizer and thus far, it's produced nothing but crap.

I was damn lucky to get that exalt drop, otherwise I'd be sitting on exactly 2 chaos drops. My build is pretty solid, though I gotta get my resists and my gear re-worked to take it to that next level.

Few more levels and I can start getting into end game gear. But I gotta get some cash first and fast!

Yeah, checked the prices on poe.trade-armor with that socket setup seems to be going for a 11-12 c.

Anyone need it? Invite me to the guild and I'll mule it over to the stash.

@rstrohkirch you'd be proud of me! I'm running the labs as soon as I'm able to. It pains me to do them, but the reward is just too great. Have you been online? I don't think I've seen you yet.

Just having a rough go of it this league. Generally by now I've found something of value, but the drops just aren't happening. I ran one T7 map last night but other than that mostly ran 5's. I did find my last uber lab trial, but I need about 500 HP more before I give that a go.

I'm still intimidated and frustrated by the new content. Im setting up my pathways to run, but I can't get the path directions that I need. I wish I could delete some that I don't want.

Also got into a fight with someone over the value of a Ngamahu's Flame with 6 sockets. I asked 25C for it. He said lowest was 15 and mine was a worse roll. Lowest was 22C and there were only 6 on the market with the rest priced at an ex or more. I told him I'd do 22C and he was not very happy with me. So I kept it. I almost always do a Ngamahu's build so I was going to keep it anyhow.

I'm not into mapping yet (just got to the final act last night). But the currency drops I've seen have been crap. Literally I've had 3 chaos drop and that beyond lucky exalt. Other than that, pure crap. I've now just been picking up everything I can find as I need the cash.

I never argue with people on sales. The price is what it is. If you want to haggle, go somewhere else. Those get ignored and if they are persistent, I block the user. I almost always mark my stuff lower than the lowest on poe.trade just to get rid of it ASAP.

I'm willing to negotiate, but don't lie to me about the market... Also, some people need to understand when it's being manipulated.

Haha, I looked up your guy. First time I've seen so many labs done before level 70 even. =]

Having some issues staying alive as I'm starting maps. Haven't figured it out yet though. Sadly, I haven't had much time as my kid had surgery on Thursday and has been in the hospital since. I've been reading that sustaining maps is harder than ever too. I just cannot get any money and my next purchase is expensive.

Sucks on your kid. Hopefully everything goes OK.
Thanks.
It's all gone exceptionally well. It was a surgery 2 years in the making that he decided to pulled the trigger on a few weeks ago. He's got a road to recovery now, but he's tough and should end up better in the end.

Anyone else having a problem with the Betrayal intervention this league? That's the one where you get jumped suddenly. 90% of the time it happens to me my screen freezes, I can hear the fight going on and I end up being dead. The only exception is when I'm playing totems, playing a way underleveled map and my totems can one-hit them.

Lots of complaints about this on GGG forums and it has been listed as a priority bug to fix since 3.6 came out but no action.

Frankly I don't care for the general direction GGG has been taking this game with Bestiary, Betrayal and now Synthesis. I'm seriously considering putting it on the shelf.

BTW don't complain about maps till you try SSF. I'm level 79 and barely breaking into tier 3 maps.

Eh I'll put forward that it hurts just as bad to buy maps and then drop back to T4-T5... But yeah, it's miserable at the moment.

This would be the league to skip. Its tailored for people who play a TON... I play 3-4 hours a day with 8-12 hours on weekend days and I can't put in enough time to really farm the new content.

They increased the map drops with a patch last night/today. There is a noticeable difference, at least for me. I was walking out of every map with at least 1 equivalent or better today.

In regards to the lag from Intervention, I don't have any of that on my end. I do see a lot of people complaining about it though. I find it really interesting that something like this can be so hit and miss. I've even seen people list the specs on their hardware and they matched mine exactly in terms of cpu/gpu/ssd/os. So I find this a bit interesting.

Yeah, wow... I went from dropping 2 or less maps each time I ran one to dropping 4+ quite a few times last night. BIG change!

I don't think it's in time to save this league though. So many people have already quit...

Map drops were brutal. Thank God they fixed that. I'm still struggling to get out of whites though. I still feel like it's a little low, but not quite at the "it's impossible" level it was at before the patch. I'm actually having a hell of a time sustaining alchs for my maps. I still feel like currency drop is lower this league but maybe I'm just being unlucky too,

I really like this build I have going now. I just like the way it "feels" while it plays. It really took a bit to turn the corner, and I still need a couple of expensive pieces, but I'm mowing down maps pretty fluidly already.

The league mechanic is horrible. I couldn't care less about playing the plumbing game and the synthesis gear at all. I run the fragmented memories that show up in maps - just treating them like extra mobs to gain XP. I still do delve, skip the temple crap and bestiary is fun, but don't bother with crafting at all. Intervention - well, dont have much of a choice as it just pops up, but I haven't even done enough integration yet to do a strong hold.

Long story short, I guess new content isn't too "necessary" for me, but rather just a vehicle for me to have to build a new character. If it plays well, I will play along. If it doesn't appeal to me I will ignore it (like this league)

Homer, doing the new content will fix your alch problem. Here is how I go about it.

I get 10 memories, make a chain to a modifier or chest, then run that chain once. It helps if you only connect ones with 3 charges.

The next 10 I get I connect to a different memory and run. Then I run them again just to clear them or delete them if I have any issues.

At some point I go back and run the first ten when they have a bunch of modifiers.

I know I could be more efficient but it's a lot to keep track of and I just don't have the time or energy. However, if you're getting your memories from maps, then running them is just like running additional maps. This is why GGG thought they could massively nerf drop rates. They were essentially doubling every map...

Interesting. I keep telling myself I will go back and run some of the memories and play that plumbing game, but I end up never doing it.
I will have to give it a crack, but for whatever reason it just does not appeal to me at all.

I'm not a huge fan either, but it felt okay when I was leveling since I was running higher maps, then running fragments at the same monster level.

Finally got around to doing Uber Elder. My best haul from him was 6ex last league IIRC. I pulled in a 13ex body armor/eye combo this time.
