Think a fireball build could be any good?

I have to say, it's a build I've always wanted to try and figure out. "Fireball" is about as generic and cliche of a magic spell as you can get in a fantasy game. Seems like it SHOULD be viable just for the sake of being viable.

Fireball definitely got a buff in Synthesis so you can scale ignite to really make a strong build that'll melt packs.

I'm waiting for tomorrow to find some newly posted 3.6 builds that are idiot proof and detailed. The firetotem build I linked above looks fine, but I like builds that list gear and virtually everything. Will look for the same for a fireball build (hopefully)

I watched a youtube video this morning that was going through some league starter builds and they were saying some of the skills that got nerfed weren't that big of nerfs so they are still quite powerful for starter builds. This specifically mentioned winter orb and vortex. I mention those because I think there were a lot of detailed guides around those and it sounds like they might still be pretty good (just not as OP).

Anyone have opinions/thoughts on this build?

OneShotKill Reloaded (v2.0) Elemental Hit Totem Scion
http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2305851

I haven't played a Scion in.... ever? So thought it might be nice to give her a shot.
I'm not sure how expensive of a build this is though. I like cheap! :)

-Frostferno (Helmet)
-Chin Sol (Bow - due to its bonus on close range)
-Yoke of Suffering (amulet - grants shock mechanic on fire damage)

Build looks fine to me. Price wise - assuming you're buying within the first 3 weeks then the build is rather expensive if you buy everything AND jewels. If you skip 1 item (Unnatural Instincts Jewel) then overall it's about average. The big ticket items are:

Kaoms heart - 200c at week 2
Yoke of Suffering - 600-700c at week 2
2 socket Tombfist - 600-700c at week 2
2x Might of the Meek - 125c at week2 each

You can just use a 1 socket Tombfist which is like 10c. That leaves the Yoke which runs about the same as a 6L item and Kaom's. So the build costs about the same as a normal build with a 6L. Unnatural Instincts is a 1500c jewel at week2 and went all the way up to 3500c at league end. It's not needed though.

Since you don't plan on playing as long as you normally do you may have to use his Hierophant version of the buid. It's cheaper and gets up and running faster which means you can enjoy end game sooner before you quit.

This time is both my favorite and least favorite part of the game. I think I'm *probably* going to wind up playing chaos dot (jebus, bane), but there are *so* many shinies trying to distract me. Ooh, self-cast divine ire with orb of storms and maybe stormfire. Or maybe I could stick with purifying flames totem chieftain after all. Or maybe even self-cast Templar PF. Or spark looks neat, or stupid CI-juggernaut tricks, or, or, or... :D

I think that's more than I earned/spent in the past 3 leagues :p

I probably won't "quit" either - just my time will be reduced quite a bit. I (sadly) have to let my son use the PS4 some times too :p

True words. Every league reset I go through the same process (1) clean up tabs-unless a feeble attempt, (2) select which toons to delete to open up some slots, (3) get frustrated with the thought of learning all the respecs, etc and vow to skip the new league, just play standard-which pledge lasts until the first day of the new league.

I actually thought about that too, but wanted a different mechanic than traps. Though I did love them in betrayal!

That's why I'm not going to go lightning trap. It got buffed and is probably pretty close to old Arc now. But it's too close to Arc to want to play it again.

Changed my mind. Going to try a Mathil build for the first time. It's a Storm Call Trickster.

Build looks fun minus the low life. I made some changes and I lost 10% damage but I gained almost 1k life over his build. Storm Call damage was buffed up around 20%. I'm going to end up with way more life and about 10% more damage than he has in the video.

I woke up early this morning and then realized "Oh today is launch day!" So I got out of bed, went downstairs at 4:30 then fired up the computer only to realize it still didn't launch for 9 hours. Needless to say I wasn't too happy with myself. I went into Standard, which I don't think I have done for years. Sooooooooooooooo many "remove only tabs". I can not believe they make people do that process. Currency, maps, essence... anything on a "specialty tab" should be done automatically, or at least allow you to do it with 1 click. It's mind boggling they dont have something like that.

This league is seems a lot more fun gameplay wise than betrayal. I thought betrayal was just a nuisance, I eventually just gave up on it, never really understood the best way to go with the interrogate/kill/bargain stuff.

I found a six socket body armor (4R2G) with decent mods but corrupted. Any idea on a build to use this in? My friend google is no help at all. Ideally I'd love to know of a site where you could plug in info like that and it came up with suggestions.

SSF (for now at least).

What are the mods? Are the sockets actually linked?

Yes, is six link. Mods are:
+13 STR
+65 max life
+41 max mana
12.3 life regen
38% fire resist
reflect 16 physical damage to melee attack

302 armor, 59 energy shield. Is a rare chain mail.

Well, first weekend down... Made it to level 85 on a fireball build. I'm still on a 4-link. I've had a couple things drop worth 2 chaos and I'm stuck on T3-T5 maps.

So I'm not really having much fun. I just slammed maps yesterday with essentially no drops and much less experience than I could be earning. I have less than 10C to my name (and I've only spent 20). I don't particularly enjoy the new content. It seems to require too much micro-management and I never seem to have the tiles that I need.

On the other hand fireball is a decent skill. My 4-link does around 70k dps which is pretty great for T3 maps and I'm at around 4.2k health at the moment with garbage gear.

I get so frustrated watching streamers just fly to red maps the first few days when I know very well that it isn't possible... I have never sustained red maps without buying at least 15.

4B 2R is good for Firestorm. You switch out one of the blue supports for an Empower. You could also do Flameblast with Empower. You can add in a lower damage red gem until you buy one.
