Haven't played in a few days but was reading reddit and it seemed people were... not happy.

If anyone cares, it seems you can make a decent amount of currency just by farming the very top layer Mine biome. I bought a 6L elder chest to try and craft on and I ran out of serrated fossils. I looked them up and found they drop in the mentioned biome and noticed there was quite a bit of that biome the top of the delve map. After doing sections for 10 minutes I was kind of surprised on what I was getting so I did it for about an hour.

Turns out 3 out of the 4 fossils that drop in that biome are worth 3-4c each while the other one is worth 1c. Between fossil drops, resonator drops and lost wealth chests I ended up making 110c in about an hour of play. The best part was that it cost me no input currency to make anything(maps, alchs, chaos, etc). As long as you have a decent amount of azrite and sulphite you can essentially mine forever if you're an end game toon.

I think I'm going to puke.
I haven't played in a week or so. Logged in this afternoon to mess around a bit.
Noticed my inventory was full so I went to vendor and sold every thing.
THEN realized... oh wait, where's that helmet with 40% Righteous Fire Damage I bought for 6E last time I played...

*sigh*
I think I need to sit out the rest of this league

I've made it to maps... barely any time to play this month. Also doing Delves didn't help any with finishing the acts any faster.

Sup PoE pros! I've played this game when it cam out and played a bit of the last season...never made it that far and I think the higher I got was level 30-35.

So, what is this game all about? Seasons restart everything as I understand it? What's the point of grinding seasons exactly?

And alstly, how "solo-friendly" is this game? I'm more of a casual player and will not waste my time on this title if it's not playable 100% solo (might sound stupid but I need my solitude lol).

Path of Exile has "leagues" which last for 3 months or so. Once the league ends, your character moves to the standard league and you have to make a new character for the next league. Acts1-10 is the story mode and after you finish that, you get to maps, which is the end game content. You grind every season to try out a new build, see the new league content etc.

Game is a lot easier if you play in a good party and trade but it's not necessary. I personally never party and only trade if I really need to. There is a "solo self found" league that runs as well where you are not allowed to trade. So it's possible to finish the game yourself but it requires a lot of knowledge because you have to really keep an eye out of good drops.

I play exclusively solo but not solo self found as I like being able to trade. And if you join a guild people can help you such as the folks here did by helping me gear up a claw build (although at 60 I diverted from the build so let's see how quickly I ruin it). Solo self found would be very challenging as the drops are very random, you might get a level 5 legendary on a level 75 map.

Game is perfect for solo players. I have a guild with 5 of us playing so every Friday and Saturday night we map together but the rest of the time is solo and tbh you don't ever have to group with anyone. If you have problems with getting through the acts or maps it can be solved by working on your build.

As long as you're willing to participate in trading the game is perfect for solo play. The solo self found option which cuts off any grouping or trading entirely tends to be something that you should explore after you have a bit of experience with the game.

Don't worry. When I liquid my gear this league I'll give you enough exalts to buy another one.

I don't deserve it. I've been playing video games for 30 years. I've never felt so low as when I realized what I had done. I just turned off the PC and walked away.

Scion elemental hit w/ slayer overleech + vaal pact is so much fun. Went pathfinder to keep my flasks up during bosses so that I don't die. I feel like I could easily farm a headhunter this league, just need the time to play the game :p. Only made it maps yesterday and before stopping, I'd made it to t4 maps. Literally spending more time buying the maps because it takes me 2 mins to clear it (bosses die in 5-10 secs). Kitava (as usual) has been the hardest boss so far. Made 1.5 exalts of currency just going from t1 to t4. I've got a few items that I could probably sell for a couple chaos or more each but I've been slacking on pricing them. I don't want to be delving and then getting trade messages. Also love the new Zana.

Created an account and will be checking this game out. Not sure how it flew under my radar. Seems to be quite popular.

If you like ARPG's and enjoy min-maxing a character then this game is going to eat all of your time.

Don't forget loot. If you like loot, you're going to get in deep.

Been looking for a game like Diablo to fill in the gaps and this fits the bill very nicely. Feels pretty polished for a freebie and certainly pays a bit of homage to Blizzard's game. I've only played about 40 minutes of it but I can already tell that I will be spending some time with it.

I just used POE currency in real life to pay someone to do a job for me. LMAO this is fantastic!

I'm a manager for a company and one of my old employees (he was promoted to another dept) plays POE. I asked him today if he had time to do a bunch of data entry for me and he said he might once he gets done with is daily work. I then said, "I'll toss in some chaos if you get this done by this afternoon." A deal was made and I laughed my way back to my desk.

By the way he and I are friends and game together so it was more a funny than anything but he is doing the work for me...which i dread doing and I will pay him tonight in chaos and what he doesn't know is I will give him a bonus with exa as well. Win win for everyone. I'm POE rich and he is poor so this will help him out a lot.

Path of Exile is F2P only if you want to torture yourself or play extremely casually. To get anything done in the game, you're gonna need at least the currency tab and a few premium tabs for trading. But you don't really need to spend any more money after that. I've actually bought too many tabs and now it's a mess trying to sort them at the start of each league.

Edit: If you plan to buy stash tabs, wait for a sale. I think there's a sale on right now. You can also check the PoE wiki for expected sale dates since they follow a pattern.

I only have 10 regular, 2 premium, 1 map and 1 currency. I find I have at least 2-3 tabs that I barely use. My must haves are at least 1 premium, 1 currency and 1 map if you do the whole atlas.

I have a Zana mission question and a couple of comments.

Question first-with the latest version of POE you have a choice of missions. For example, least say you can choose between three yellow 6, a yellow level 5 and a blue level 5. Does another know if the points awarded are based on the difficulty of the mission (ie, the blue 5 would be worth less)?

Comment: Today when I was selecting my mission, all the choices said the same thing-complete the labyrinth, only one chance. I selected and played one, map was correct but it was a completely different mission. Anyone else experience this bug?

Comment: A few days ago I actually got a "Complete the Vaults of Atziri" mission. Easiest zana daily ever.

Just had a map with an abyss, next screen over were three sulphite nodes arranged in a triangle with a breech in the center. About two more screens over was a unique strongbox. This was a t6 corrupted map. I mean I didn't get anything of value from them except a few splinters and lots of sulphite but still amazed at the amount of features in that map.
