He was a sparker. Tbh just use the free 2.3 respec and make your witch the voltaxic sparker, elementalist looks nuts and you can just scale spell/proj/ele damage nodes instead of chaos.

You'll be 80% reflect resistant which is enough to not care, you'll get an extra golem that is hard to die, bunches of damage, its good stuff. Path over to the pierce nodes on the right + pierce support for 100% Pierce chance.

Drop poison gem for life leech. Due to elementalist strength, you won't lose too terribly much damage but you will leech even more than you used to. With vaal pact you basically have to be oneshot to die. Ele Reflect rares in ele reflect maps will tickle.

Basically things might take half a second longer to die but you will be safer than 2.2.

Not sure how to then repurpose your scion though...

Welp, looks like the Perandus league has ended and characters are rolled over to their respective standard leagues. This is always the worst -- re-juggling all your inventory. And now I have to reprice everything too! Ugh.

Any thoughts on best green-support for HoT? I'm using culling strike right now, but maybe there's something better?

Almost have my sparkler to lvl90 (this would be my first). 2 more red maps to play through WTF do I do with all these old talismans? Hold em? Sell em? Are they worth anything?

Hmmm that's brilliant in re-using the witch as the sparkler. Never thought about completely swapping out like that. Though there goes my (immediate) dreams of hitting 90. That might not be a bad idea...

I will have to look at the tree and see how it goes. Have you seen any discussion on this online? I like to take in lots of opinions/ideas and loosely follow their ideas/suggestions.

I think I'm going ED. Shouldn't be hit with a bit nerf and with the Nerf to chaos conversion, I suspect consuming dark is going to be incredibly cheap.

I'm doing a dual curse ed necromancer (mistress of sacrifice bone offering is nuts). My goal is rathpith globe + heretic veil + carcass jack for uniques. Not needing crit should make gearing cheap otherwise. Going to use eb/mom/zo to stack with bone offering for layered caster defenses. Oh and some zombies with a blind gem for shits and giggles.

My planned tree has 160% life which should be plenty with mom, and about 450% dot/chaos/spell damage on tree, not counting ascendancy buffs like consuming corpses.

Running temp chains and vuln in blasphemy with all curse effectiveness nodes on the tree and an inc aoe gem for max damage output AND the insane defensive properties of temp chains. Although if the aoe is big enough I might drop inc aoe and run arctic armor with the spare mana...

Should be fun, just waiting for friday!

I am really debating going CoC. GGG won't nerf it anymore (Chris Wilson already stated they had a huge drop in playerbase the last time they nerfed it, so I'm fairly certain they won't again). I'll probably stick to ED / Contagion for a cheap solo mapping build and when I can buy a 5L Voll's jump to CoC.

I am interested in maybe trying out the new skills on CoC. Having Frost Bolts shoot and then explode with Vortex may be fun. Probably not entirely practical though.

Honestly, I might just play my sparker or fire up (and better equip) my south paw reave in Standard for a bit and let the dust settle in the new league and wait to see what is working and what is not etc.

A build I figured up for a friend. It's not a sword, but Axe-and-Board build, using Jack, The Axe.

Given Jack's fast attack speed, this would work better with Cyclone, or possibly the new Lacerate skill, than, say, Earthquake.

Basic idea is to use the Bloodlust Support for a second huge "more" multiplier on physical damage, apply bleeds with leap slam and your counterattack gems (all hits with Jack cause bleeding, regardless of skill used, unless the skill is supported with Bloodlust). Gets one more "More" multiplier than most melee builds, which helps make up for Jack's mediocre damage. Jack the Axe is cheap as hell and this build has so much block that the counterattacks will go off constantly.

EVENTUALLY, when you have currency and are high level, you can get a high physical dps 1H of any base with an open prefix and craft bleeding on hit with Vagan level 7 if you want more damage than Jack has to offer (or, use the extra levels to grab some bleed on hit chance along with Gratuitous Violence and just use a really high Pdps 1H). When you complete the basic tree, decent jewels should finally be readily-available so you can grab the easy jewel sockets for further damage/life. Obviously if you switch away from axes, switch the passive nodes to the correct weapon type.

Example Cyclone 5-links: Cyclone->Melee Phys->Bloodlust->Increased AoE->Added Fire Damage (Cyclone cannot use multistrike) (swap inc aoe for conc effect on some bosses)

Replace Added Fire Damage with Multistrike if using multistrike-capable attacks. Replace with Less Duration if you want to play Earthquake. If using an elemental-conversion attack such as Ice Crash, use Weapon Elemental Damage as the 5th link.

You can run Grace Aura + Herald of Ash for safety + a bit of damage, Hatred Aura + Herald of Ash for maxDPS, or use an Essence Worm and run Grace + Determination or Grace + Hatred instead.

You will need mana leech on one piece of jewelry or your gloves. ~.3% physical leeched as mana should be enough.

Okay so Prophecy league is pretty awesome. If you haven't started yet or haven't tried PoE yet you should give it a go. I've been having a blast with my Lacerate character and hunting prophecies has been VERY fun. Has the potential to be my favorite league.

I've completed a handful of prophecies, but not sure what I'm getting out of them. Is it bonus XP? Or ??? And how should I be going about getting them? Should I just be filling all the slots at once? Banking some coins? Is there a good explanation somewhere?

Some prophecies are just fluff and others actually do really good things. There is one that will six link the next item you six socket with jewelers.

Yeah I see that their rewards are all over the map. There are many that I've done though that are just like "you'll meet a twin boss by the weathered stones" or something like that. I kill the bosses -- I assume it's just a XP bonus or nothing really noteworthy in those cases. Some are "instant 20% quality when you use your next armorer's scrap" so I get their bonus.

Should I be spending my silver coins on prophecies now in normal? Or bankrolling or ???

With the new league I've noticed really bad lag when I first start out. Usually it sorts out when I leave town. I'm guessing the game servers are slammed.

It is something to do with the loading assets in the background. Chris said something about towns being laggy but everything else amazing.

I find that prophecies really help break up the grind of leveling by interjecting something fun. I'm sure I'll ramp up and do a ton more once I hit merciless.

These Latency/Lag spikes are getting annoying.
I was in Lab, almost at final fight then the entire group started getting
Latency spikes up to around 1500.
The entire group then became disbanded and around 1 minute later, we all got kicked from the game.

I was actually going to comment on how fast it seems to load now --my load times are like half of what they used to be.

So my Essence Drain Necro is up to 4600 life, still have two life nodes to grab!

The only bummer is I'm really hurting for ES. I want to run MOM with my EB setup, but to safely run it without issues I need like 2500ES. I have 1100 (Tabula, <50ES helm/gloves/boots, ~100ES shield are the reasons why).

On the plus side, I have a temp chains with over 50% slow in my blasphemy now. Shit is SILLY.
