Pastrami rules!

I've always wanted to try making my own. It doesn't look that hard.

It's been quite a while since I've been to a good Jewish deli. They are kind of in eclipse around here. There's nothing like a good pickle. That's what she said. :D

Pastrami is indeed good, but only if it's sliced fairly thin. I cannot stand Pastrami that's thick like ham.

If not, you cannot say so. If you have, then blasphemy.

Heh, that Pastrana thread made me think about getting a Pastrami sandwich, and now there is a thread for it. That confirms what I'm getting for lunch.

Not weird at all. Lots of Turks in Austria.

Epic sammie must have been epic. I am envious.

If you take Pastrami from Bay City Deli, if they cut it thin HOW's would that be inferior to if they cut it thick? Same fucking meat. I prefer thinner sliced piled high. I've had Pastrami everywhere in CA that's known for it. I've driven 2 hours to get a sandwich before. The texture's much better if it's thin, and if it's from the same butcher that means it's the same meat, thin isn't inferior but I wouldn't expect you to know much of anything.

you get NO texture when it's thin

when it's thick and done right it's like soft succulent meat melting in your mouth

hat/johnnie's = shit.

and who cares if it's from the same butcher? it's the preparation that makes pastrami special.

Thinly sliced pastrami on rye with mustard & a half sour pickle is good. But a thinly sliced tongue sandwich on pumpernickel with mustard, pickles on the side OWNS pastrami.
