You paid $40K for a GT? For less than $2K more you could have gotten a new 2010 1LT 6-speed manual Corvette.

if any of you guys actually want a real viper pm me. My auto group includes the largest viper dealer in the country.

There are lots of cars I'd prefer as a daily driver over a viper, but a mustang convertible probably isn't much more comfortable.

He should be able to pulley it when the 1 yr warranty is up..

The 5.0 isn't a Terminator 4.6 or Supra 2JZ. You pulley it much beyond 10 psi and you'll be buying a new motor. It's cast pistons/rods and 11:1 compression.

That's the crappy thing about buying a blower for a non factory blown car. You pay twice as much (that same Whipple 2.3 is $3,000 for a Cobra/GT500, granted those cars already have the intercooler installed) and can't even run 1/3 the boost the blower is capable of :(

Forged one off specialty pistons on a built built project car != stock rods and pistons in a 2011 mustang gt.

Also, detonation is only one of many issues. 11:1+ static cr and 27 psi is going to lift the head and or eat head gaskets, not if but when. Good tuning and strong parts can only go so far when stuffing 90 lbs of shit in a tablespoon of space :awe:

Still an interesting project, thanks for sharing :) Will be checking it out at home in further detail.

I chuckled a little bit realizing that Honda is high compression and 27 psi and still doesn't break the psychological 500 hp mark.

Are you kidding? The Mustang is like a cushy Bentley after getting out of a viper. The older Mustangs weren't that comfortable, but the new ones are really pleasant to sit in, and visibility is much much easier than in the ballistic missile feeling Viper. Last time I sat in a Viper, it was a 90s model, and much of my vision of the road was obscured by that wonderful V10-stuffed nose :D
