By your logic, every single one of these people has been raped.

It's very different. So a guy wakes up shrinkwrapped to bed. There are no long term consequences to that, they'll just cut shrink wrap and he'll be as good as new. Same with guy buried under beer cans or "art installation" or a guy with toothpicks in his hair. Those guys will just pick up the beer cans or take toothpicks out of the hair and will be on their way. This girl however had her hair shaved. It won't grow back for a couple of months at least, and even then it will be way too short. That's a 3 months damage during which she will be stared upon, laughed upon, giggled upon and so forth... Imagine if she has a job interview next week, what now? That haircut can very well cost her a job.

Let's review this scenario thru the Lens Of Time Of The Past 20 Years.

Young woman goes to FRAT party to GET DRUNK.

She GETS DRUNK AND PASSES OUT. What happened to 1,000 other women in this exact scenario over the past 20 years? They woke up with their panties around their ankles and didn't even think twice about it. Why not? B/C it's expected, that's why. And anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant. I'm not talking about a party w/20 people that know each other. I'm talking about a typical college frat party. The girl in the video is obviously late teens, early 20's. 100 random people wandering drunkenly in and out of the rooms of some frat house...nobody knows anyone...nobody cares either.

Gee...what happens now? Got a video camera? Got some horny drunk guys? Got a room full of people that won't talk or rat each other out? Right.

Nope. They didn't DO THAT. She got LUCKY. And AFAIK...LMFAO! She deserved every bit of it. She can now wear all those stylish kicky hats she's been buying.

LESSON LEARNED.

There are consequences for your actions in the real world. She should've thought of that before getting wasted and passing out around people she didn't know and obviously couldn't trust.

Rape? Not even close. Those were some real losers there who shaved her head and there should be some kind of punishment for that.

On the other hand, that girl should take better care for herself.

Now she has to explain to everybody why she shaved her head. Yap if it hapenned to me, I would be pressing charges for assault at a minimum.

Despicable behavior designed to humiliate and ridicule.

All Rape is Assault or Battery, but not all assault or battery is rape. Understand where I'm going?

The memory of a rape is something that a man or woman will have to carry with them for the rest of their lifetime. Getting your head shaved while passed out drunk is something that is a lot easier to get over.

I think the memory of getting your head shaved by a bunch of drunk is something that a man or woman will have to carry with them for the rest of their lifetime

You're a moron. People who get their heads shaved as pranks don't have nightmares or relationship problems for the rest of their lives the way rape victims do. To compare a cheap prank with the severe emotional stress that a rape victim goes through is a severe disservice to any rape victims.

BTW, we don't even know the background on the story. If its strangers that who did this to her its one thing, but if its friends playing a prank on one of their friends, then its another. You ever play a prank on someone? If so, did you equivocate it with rape? What if it was a guy who had his head shaved? Would it be the same thing?

What amazes me, that you fail to grasp is the difference between this and rape. Was this prank in mean spirits? Yes it was. Is it the same as raping her? Not even close. And its also not worthy of expelling the students that did it, assuming it happened at a University.

I stand by my oppinion and if you don't like it go F yourself.

Oh give me a break. Sensationalize much? Your comparison would more than likely appall any woman who has been a victim of rape.

Maybe she was a total bitch and had it coming ?
Anyhow, if you were to pass out drunk, you have to know some kind of prank might happen.

Man, this thread is full of idiots.

Those guys are dumbasses. What they did is stupid and mean, and hopefully they get their come-upins. But rape? Are you fscking serious?Anybody comparing this to rape has no idea what it is, and has certainly never known someone who was raped. You know, rape? Where a guy, say, forces a woman to the floor, punches her in the face repeatedly, basically beats the living hell out of her while he forces himself inside of her? You think walking around with a shaved head is bad, try walking around with bruises and cuts all over your face and body, including in sensitive areas.

Rape is NOT a word to be taken lightly.

IANAL, but I believe at the very least the've all been assaulted.

There are probably some additional criminal charges that could be brought against these folks (given a vindictive enough prosecutor), and having your head shaved is almost certainly going to provide fertile grounds for a civil case.

Let me just clarify my position here...

1. It's nothing CLOSE to rape.
2. Castration would not be a just punishment.
3. I would not lose one single second of sleep if they lost their balls with a meat cleaver.

I agree.

Shaving a drunk girl's head is cruel and very mean-spirited, but it is nowhere near in the same league as rape.

If I was to tell you that I am going to shave your head, grab a shaver and walk toward you, you would probably resist violently. Later in court you could use the self defence argument to exonerate yourself of any wrongdoing because you where being asaulted.

Now If I wait untill you are passed out drunk to shave your head, it's a completely different scenario now. It becomes a joke and you deserve it because you where drunk.
Ya right.

uh huh

I agree.
Imagine this was your daughter. You could laugh it off and say "there's a lesson learned." Rape would have you out hunting for revenge, willing to sacrifice everything you've accomplished your whole life for some pay back.

IMHO, she was lucky that that's all that happened to her. I'm sure she'll have learned her lesson of passing out at a party full of other people.

(whoever said she may have just been tired, wtf...I'm pretty sure no matter how tired I was, if someone was shaving my head I would become pretty aware of it very quickly)

I dont feel sorry for her at all.

I also think that those of you who are comparing this to rape need to reevaluate your position.

This was just a dumb stupid girl who got so piss drunk she didnt even know her head was being shaved. When you go to a party do you feel sorry for the loud obnoxious girl who drank way too much and throws up all night? Of course not, it's her own damn fault.

Maybe this will teach her a lesson not to drink so much. If she was vulnerable enough to have her head shaved, then she was vulnerable to be raped. If I were her I would be eternally grateful that the only thing she lost that night was her hair.

Now she has to explain to everybody why she shaved her head.

"Umm... I got so drunk that five guys shaved my head and all I could do was drool all over myself."
