Not true. Thats a lie perpetuated by the anti-abortion right.
So you're saying 1.33 million abortions per year, in the US alone, are performed to protect the life of the mother?

Did you even read what i quoted? 😕

I said the "abortion as birth control" claim is BS and perpetuated by the anti-choice right.

One well thought out and medically consulted abortion is a choice, 2 or more is birth control.

Yes, yes, your logic is sound indeed. Wreck your car once and its an accident. Wreck it twice and it was intentional, eh? Sound logic you got there because accidents NEVER happen twice, right?

It's sorta like choking on a big piece of steak. if you survive, the next time you eat steak you'll be a bit more careful how you chew your food.

Still flawed logic. Try again.

It should be legal in extreme cases only. Mothers life in danger, incest, rape, republican mother/father. All other abortions need a signed living will from the fetus.

I have nothing to prove to you. You have your opinion, I have mine. Leave it at that

Well, have proved that you really dont think through your "opinions" before making a decision or conclusion. Good job.

'Partial-birth abortion' is only used for medical reasons, when the baby has no chance of living but a good chance of killing the mother.

How do you rationalize 1.33 million abortions annually then, if they are not for birth control purposes?

Senate passes late-term abortion ban
Yes, really. If you could even read what you quoted, you'd see that I already told you it's been overturned by the courts, so this procedure is still legal. Further, it only bans ONE form of late term abortion. Any other is still legal.

Carhart and his lawyers said the federal law is vague and could be interpreted as covering more common, less controversial procedures, including ?dilatation and evacuation,? the most common method of second-trimester abortion.

A total of 1.3 million abortions are performed in the United States each year. Almost 90 percent occur in the first trimester.

An estimated 140,000 D&Es take place in the United States annually, compared with an estimated 2,200 to 5,000 D&X procedures.

If abortion is legal, and a doctor decides DX is best for the patient, it should be allowed.

Who is congress to tell doctors what's best for their patients.

I still can't get past the fact that some of these partial birth abortions are botched and the baby survives and is viable.

Kind of makes your poll somewhat insignificant when I ponder that.

Those are what exactly?

No one likes abortion. Even some of my friends who are staunchly for it politically say they couldn't do it. People do it because they believe they have no choice, or have emotional problems that are not being addressed. When you're depressed you do things that don't really seem to make sense. Calling them whores doesn't help, in fact it probably reinforces their resolve that they should not bring a child into this screwed up world. Of coure there are those who just do it as a matter of convienece, they would have a back alley abortion if it were illegalized. It's a lose/lose situation for everyone, no matter which side you're on.

Diversion after diversion after diversion. You continue to refuse, regardless of the evidence presented, anything to do with the legalities of late-term abortions. Maybe if one of the USSC justices came to give a talk about it at your high school, you'd believe him. I doubt it though.

You're calling ME dense? Now I've heard it all. Take your :cookie: and head back to high school. Or, on the off chance that you're not just a troll and actually curious, here's a little tip that most of us figured out years ago: http://www.google.com - it has all the answers you're looking for.

I think abortion for the first trimester should definitely be legal. After that, only in certain circumstances should it be allowed (mother's life in danger, severe defects, etc). If the fetus is developed enough to be delivered and survive with little risk to the mother, then it shouldn't be allowed in any circumstances. 3 months should be enough to figure out you're pregnant and whether or not you want to proceed with the pregnancy.

Who's going to limit "Severe Defects" or "Rape"?

I don't fore see abortion ever becoming illegal again. Too many christian women can't keep their legs shut.
