Looks like one of those long haired hippie types. Hippies don't work. Hell, they don't even shower. Probably still thinks it's the summer of love.

Actual hippies were the spoiled trust-fund babies of the wealthy elite, and by and large grew up to become urban yuppies, and then high-powered CEOs of various tech, bioscience, and engineering firms, et al.

Younger Cop: And was there anything of value in the car?

The Dude: Oh, uh, yeah, uh... a tape deck, some Creedence tapes, and there was a, uh... uh, my briefcase.

Younger Cop: [expectant pause] In the briefcase?

The Dude: Uh, uh, papers, um, just papers, uh, you know, uh, my papers, business papers.

Younger Cop: And what do you do, sir?

The Dude: I'm unemployed.
I would said after that "Dude, get a fucking job!"

You know what really kills me right now? I installed a furnace with my niece today...she told me that her Mom kicked her out 4 months ago because she didn't have a job. I just wish my brother's ex-wife could have a little talk with my sister.

I wanted to commiserate with her but I couldn't help but be happy to hear something like this.

Wow, there are a bunch of other issues no one knew about:

http://www.syracuse.com/crime/index...eviction_as_a_joke_7_reasons_why_its_not.html

Like his mental issues and this one:

Michael Rotondo said he is trying to regain custody or visitation of his young son. He lost all rights after a trial in 2017, he said. In his appeal, he said he argued that he was wrongfully denied status as a "poor person." That argument allowed him to appeal the order that denied him contact with his child, he told Syracuse.com. If he accepted cash from his parents, or got a job, that would undercut his argument that he is actually poor, he reasoned. After refusing money or help from his parents, they ordered him out, he said. They cut off his cell phone, and stopped providing food and laundry services, he said. That's what launched the eviction proceeding.

the only thing that keeps me out of jail is the officer saying "you clearly knew that grabbing him by the throat was a criminal offense"

I'm not doing time over this piece of shit.

A .30-30 rifle is powerful enough to blow completely through a person at short range, and the bullet still has enough energy to go considerably downrange. Since he will need money he should sell that to a more responsible person.

On another note, I'm thinking that the media stunt he pulled will make him unemployable for some time.

They offered him $1100, not that they're obliged to give him anything, but were they even trying? 1100 gets you nowhere.

Chances of him getting hired were slim, but with his face all over the internet they're pretty much 0. He'll end up on the street.

Good. He should have been on his own when he was 20 ( being generous ). He has been a pathetic sponge for 10 years almost 11. They have given him much more than 1100 dollars over the last 10 years.

Fuck him, I wouldn't even give him the 1100.

Bad parenting from the start.

Told my 17 y.o. that he could move out any time, legally. I've already paid for school next year and I'll make sure he has lunch. "Uh, what about the other 7 meals a day?" was his response. 😀
I had no idea you are a Hobbit.

How common are people who have to sue to get their grown ass kids to live on their own like adults and quit mooching off them?

I have no clue but there have to be a fuckload more entitled asshole kids out there that refused to move out unless forced.

So you are happy that instead of being a leach on his parents that he will now be a leach on the taxpayers?

I think there's nothing wrong with living with parents for a longer time, but as long as you actually contribute to the household and get a job. People brag about being out of the house at like 18 or younger but then they had to live a crappy life style because they could not afford to really be on their own. What's even the point of that. Best to save up and then leave when you can actually properly afford to. Now days it's getting harder and harder as housing prices keep going up and job rate keeps going down.

As much as I wanted my own independence once I turned 18 - or heck even younger, it just made no financial sense for me to leave until I had a real full time job secured, and had enough money saved up for a down payment on a house and the associated expenses with moving out. (furniture, etc) Mind you there is lot of things I could have sacrificed if I wanted to leave a year earlier, such as not having all the furniture at once, but my parents supported me and had no issues with me living at home for a few years after I got a full time job. Honestly I could have stayed longer if I really wanted to. I had a job, went to work, and contributed to the household. Heck, in my college years I worked summers so paid for my own college. My parents had a scholarship setup for me but when the money came in for it I just gave it to them since they actually needed the money at the time and I was loaded, had like 30 grand in the bank before I moved out, I don't think I'm ever going to see a big balance again in my life time. 😛

My parents never believed in charging me rent or anything like that, but I'd often pay for meals or groceries or what not. Usually I had to insist since they didn't really want me to pay for anything. Even now I sometimes try to pay for the meal when we go out as a family. I think it's good to keep a good relationship with parents and siblings really. I feel bad for anyone who has a bad relationship or is simply far away from them. They won't be around forever. Though sometimes it's the parents that are assholes too. I've known people who were raised in an abusive home. I find that so sad. They never really knew what it was like to have supportive parents. I'm thankful that was not the case for me and that my parents always supported me.

As has been stated many times in this thread, who the fuck is going to hire him? If this is national news you can rest assured that virtually everyone in his town/city has seen the story.

Which is kind of the funny part. Everybody will tell him to get a job, but nobody will want to hire him because he does not have a job. But then I also can't really blame companies because he comes across as some lazy ass who probably won't perform well. Kinda a vicious cycle really. Sadly he'll probably end up on the street and getting into drugs since he won't know what else to do with himself. It's his fault, but partially the parents too for letting him go that long without helping himself. Some people may need an extra push to learn reality.

Sooner or later he will learn to stand on his own two feet. How hard will it be is entirely up to him.
