No, actually it doesn't SUCK!

Your parents have a duty to go wherever the Airforce needs them to go.
They get paid to do that.

You should drop down on your knees and thank whatever you find holy that your parents were not sent to Baghdad International airport.

My sister and her husband has been in the Air Force for 12 yrs. They learn early in the game that you list were you don't want to go at the top and where you really want to go at the bottom. So far they have pick every base they wanted to go.

I live in Fayetteville, and it has actually grown on me now. 2 hours from the beach, 2 hours from the mountains, house prices are rock bottom (good thing), and just like any other city in the world, you just avoid the "bad" parts if you want. Im not even in the military and I stay here by choice. As far as the pawn shops and girlie bars? In nearly every city by a large military base, its all the same.

Having lived in much larger cities, I much prefer Fayetteville. Of course, if youre not military, or if you dont have a good job, fayetteville might suck, as theres very little industry here, mostly service jobs...for you know who.

Dont put it down when you havent lived here.

Just because Fayetteville is pretty much bumfvck doesn't mean the rest of NC is bumfvck although a decent portion of it is. NC is a really nice state, it's hard to go wrong with beautiful beaches and beautiful mountains no more than a few hours a way wherever you are.
NC also has Bald Head Island. 'Nuff Said.
