I stay at home to watch movies on DVD because I shout too much during them ...I'm tired of getting thrown out of theaters.

I, too, went to see I, Robot ( 😉 ) tonight and to my surprise there was a family who brought a little boy as well as an infant. I mean, still-pink infant. They were well-behaved though. Only at one point did the baby fuss a little and the mom promptly took the baby out of the theatre for a walk/feeding/diaper change/dunno what.

JJones, the big gingerbread scared me also 😛

Movies should be like survivor, you can vote people out of the theater.

this is why I go to a late viewing
Picture this. It's 10pm, 15 minutes into Spiderman 2. A mother with two 4~6 y/os stomping up the steps to a seat. Through quiet parts in the movie they say the dumbest sh1t. To the right, a couple with an infant who cries during intense parts. Both parties do nothing despite repeated demands to STFU and RTFM. A manager who reveals nothing can be done except for a refund of the ticket price, thereby declaring your time at the theater a waste of said time. Such is Los Angeles.

There was a woman with a crying toddler in the theater when I went to see Freddy vs. Jason. FREDDY VS. JASON. Why the hell would you bring a kid to a movie like that, unless you're an irresponsible parent? The first scene in the movie was a titty shot.

I work for children and youth services and we were getting ready to leave and the mom put in a movie for her 5 year old in the DVD, it was Freddy vs Jason.

You should have grabbed the kid and gone, "Yoink! Mine" 😛

Seems inappropriate to bring a young child. The infant I can understand though. They don't yet know what's going on. And it sounds like they were considerate.

I would never bring our toddlers and older kids to a non-kids movie. We can certainly wait to see the movie until a babysitter is available.

But we have brought infants to the movies plenty of times. With a breastfeeding 3 month old, a babysitter is not an acceptable option and mom definitely needs to relax and get out to maintain her sanity.

Unlike some people though, we are always considerate of others. We would only go when we knew it was a time that our baby would just nurse and fall asleep. Any hint that he/she was going to start fussing at all or making any noise at all, and one of us would immediately take him/her out. I honestly can't believe that some parents are so inconsiderate that they would stay in the theater with a noisy baby. It is parents like that who have caused us to get dirty looks from people even though we have never disturbed anyone in a theater.

Easy solution is sit through the whole movie until the very end, then walk out and find a manager and complain that there was someone sittin gbehind you that made it impossible fo ryou to watch the show and you'd like your money back.

Free Movie. 🙂

You know, you people could go speak with a theater manager about the problem instead of just whining abou it on the internet. Bitch enough and you'll either get the offending crotch goblins removed or get some free passes for a future movie.

And for the record, I don't take my daughter to movies. She's too little and they're too fscking loud.

A while back a customer at a local theatre decided he had enough of some kids (about 15 years old I think) being loud and screwing around during the movie. He proceeded to grab a fire extingusher off the wall and spray the kids down with it. Apparently this man had complained to the management a couple times but nothing had happend, so he took matters into his own hands.

It wasn't me, though the thought had crossed my mind more than once.🙂

IIRC the man was not arrested.

I take my kids to the movies, but my wife and I would always sit in the outer seats so that one of us can take the kids out if they get rowdy. I took my oldest daughter to the movie when she was barely a month old, and we rarely had any problems. the problems come when we watch the extremely long movies, like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, that my kids get restless, otherwise they are typically very well behaved during the whole movie. But i would never let my kids run around in the theatre, cry or even talk during the movie. it really pisses me off to see parents let their kids do that.

And then he got arrested, thrown in jail, and probably fined. I'm sure it was worth it.

Much more effective to write a note to the corporate management staff and let them know why they are losing their customers. Every so often they actually care and change policies.

You would be correct. Bringing it to the attention of higer level management usually gets you somewhere.

what's the point of the movie ratings if all these kids are in there? i try to only see rated R in hopes there wont be so many kids... but it never works out that way. usually i just rent. or go to the dollar show.

Not with Regal Cinemas. I have never received a reply to my e-mails, unless you count having my e-mail address added to their spam list.

Well, with in excess of 6,000 screens I guess they can become as unresponsive as any other large company. Most exhibitors try to at least compensate the customer with some free stuff.

Usually, finding a regional manager is your best bet. They have the authority to address your concerns and usually give a crap about what happens at the theatres they are responsible for.
