are people seriously arguing over who's the better actor, Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise? Why not throw Keanu in there for good measure...

That's actually a horrible comparison. For some reason I think you know that as well you just won't admit it.

a bit extreme, perhaps, but not too far off...

Would you throw Leo in there as well? (Testing a theory!)

I like both actors, but I don't see Pitt being able to fit into the persona that Cruise developed over the past three films.

i dont think Pitt will do it. He would do a great job acting, but the movie could still fail for reasons beyond his control - like crappy editing. Then people will say the movie flopped because of him...that he couldnt do what Cruise did... and im sure Pitt doesnt want that

Well, at least Matt Damon can claim Good Will Hunting and Rounders. Bourne series is pretty cool as well. I actually prefer it over MI to be honest.

I would go to see Pitt play that part.

I've been burnt out on little Tommy Cruise for a long time and actively avoid his movies if I can help it.

I dont think i've ever seen a movie with Pitt in it that wasn't great. I'm not saying he's the best actor or anything, just that he picks damn good roles to be in. Kind of like Sean Connery.

arrr, such great mo'ies as entrapment?

Or League of Extraordinary Gentlement?? :)

A.) Entrapment had the laser dodging scene with CZJ in a catsuit, so that inherently makes the film good.
B.) Pitt might actually bring some charisma to the MI house and no doubt he physically fits the part...and yes, I think he's a great actor and a gorgeous man, in that man-love kind of way. ;)

I liked Pitt's spy character in Mr. and Mrs. Smith better than Cruises' in MI.. The first MI was good, but I wasn't overly fond of the second, and I've yet to see the 3rd. Cruise was also horrible in WotW.

Snatch!

YES. fun fun great movie, and Pitt was awesome in it. I started to admire Pitt and like him as an actor after Snatch.

$40,000,000 is a lot of money but think about this - Keanu Reeves earned $10 million plus 10% of gross for The Matrix, $15 million plus 15% of gross for Matrix Reloaded, as well as $15 million plus 15% of gross for Matrix Revolutions. I had read somewhere that had worked out to about $350 million in income for him. Not bad.

Matt Damon was awesome in the Bourne movies. imo better than cruise in MI series and also better than Pitt in Mr and Mrs Smith. But I think Pitt would be better than Damon for the MI role.
