Panhandling is hard work. It is not easy to sit eight hours outside asking for money. I am sure if this people have a good paying job they won't panhandle.

i never give money to pan handlers nor do i plan to. they can go get a fucking job if they need money. i don't have sympathy really for people who have pissed their life away to get in a position where they have to resort to being a lazy person who has to beg for money because they don't feel like working for it.

+1

Oh boo fucking hoo, little old lady scammed him out of a few bucks.

Meanwhile...the banksters charge people ~$40 overdraft fees, 20% interest on credit cards and have the gall to beg for bailouts to the tune of billions of dollars from taxpayers.

You want to talk about a scam to be outraged about? I better not see this outrage fail here tomorrow.
You know how it goes. Steal $100 from one person, and you might go to jail.

Get caught stealing $100 each from 10 million people, and you'll be told very sternly to be more careful in the future.

The women seem more sinister, for male panhandlers "need food and job" usually translates to "need a twelve pack of beer and my nights stay at the flophouse motel"

This reminds me of the time I was behind this lady in line at the grocery store. She paid with food stamps and got all uppity when they wouldn't let her pay for something with it. After her bitching and just paid in cash. Then, went outside and drove away in her Cadillac.

I wanted to follow her and bitch her out, report her to the IRS or something. That was pure shit.

People on food stamps are allowed to keep their car, sometimes even their dignity.

Fucking jobs are hard to get; you need to be in great shape, be able to keep it up for a long time and the gigs can be inconsistent.

i'm going to disagree with you considering i've been making money since i was about 10, starting with baby sitting and raking leaves, cutting grass, etc, and then when i turned 14 i got a job at a supermarket easily because i wanted to buy an n64. i have been employeed since i was 14 and am now 32.

finding jobs and work is easy. i see tons of illegals standing outside of the home depot by my house to find a day job. i don't see them standing on street corners begging for money.

(woosh!)

I once gave some money to two beggars who fought over a street corner because they actually provided a service to me (entertainment).

People who panhandle here in Florida also get low cost housing, welfare, social security assistance, food stamps and free obamacare. Some collect well over $1000/ month from the govt alone.

Things I learned on ATOT. Panhandlers make more money than most people and get free housing and drive expensive cars.

^^ what the hell can you possibly do with $4 worth of karate lessons against ninjas?

It's funny/sad because many big time corporations have been scamming and ripping people off for years and years but they continue to make that money. I guess it's easier to turn down the random guy on the side of the street.

I used to get upset at panhandlers/beggers, but not so much anymore. I see them as entrepreners now. They give people the ability to feel good about themselves for a small fee. And heck they are cheaper than a shrink.

I saw an 18 ish year old kid once standing at the exit of a freeway asking for money. He had iPod/iPhone headphones on with new clothes, listening to music.

I made the mistake of giving cash to a panhandler who bursted into tears and claimed to be a 'veteran thrown out in the streets' and needs money to feed his family. I saw him walk out of a liquor store minutes later lighting a cigarette and a brown bag with a bottle inside it.

homeless vets need to drink and smoke too. arguably more than normal people.

It seemed like it wasn't just once. He said he gave her money every day or two. Even went without lunch one day just so he could give her money so she could eat. He actually seemed hurt. I guess it makes sense that such a sensitive person would threaten to trash her car if he saw it again.

I dunno, if you give a panhandler money you shouldn't really care what they do with it. I might actually do something worse...I'll give money or my smokes depending on what they look like. Sometimes, for whatever reason, I will give some money even if they don't really ask. Other times, a person could begging with kids right next to them, and if I don't think the person has a face worth helping or just something about them is off, f*ck em.
