Apparently Caribou Barbie is miffed at Family Guy's song and dance regarding a young girl with Down Syndrome. 'Scuse me while I shuffle back a few days where this same person said it was 'ok' to use the word Retard because RL said so.
Now Seth MacFarlane does a show where the teenage boy wants to date a girl with Down Syndrome. Cue Caribou Barbie's feigned anger...

So, calling someone a retard is ok, but not doing a satirical animated show partially about a girl with Down Syndrome... I gotcha, er well you betcha..
Her apathy towards one and angst over the other is pathetic, she's pathetic... I shouldn't even have given her a second thought.

Did you not watch the episode...it was a clear attack at Palin and her family.

You missed the part about how her mother used to be a governor....

Yes, it was a quick joke as part of a larger plotline. Also, Sarah Palin's child with down syndrome is a boy, not a girl.

How about the part where she is a fully independent woman? They seemed to be portraying the "retard" as an adult, rather than as a sympathetic figure that we should all take pity on like Palin would prefer.

Family Guy has ripped on everyone and everything over the years. This is no different and should be treated no different.

Ah, case closed then! This show was NOT about Sarah Palin. See the above statement for proof!

You clearly haven't watched the episode. Come back when you have.

And I'm about the most non-partisan person around. I think both parties are hacks. I, like most rationale minded people, also do think that Sarah Palin is a complete moron who fabricates being insulted to gain support. Hence, what we have here today.

Besides, the whole point of the OP's post is to show what a partisan hack Palin is (and you apparently), because this is shameful, but Rush using the same word is a-ok. Right. (I'm not saying Rush was wrong to use the word either, I just don't think this is any different)

I have. Its pretty fuckin obvious who they are making fun of.

Doesn't Palin's semi-coherent ramblings, folksy diatribe, and ignorant hypocrisy kid of set her up to be made fun of?

Can she honestly expect to say things like "pal'ing around with terrorists," "all of them (in response to what newspapers or magazines she reads)," "hopey-changey thing," etc. and not be a target for parody or insults?

When George Bush was elected, so many people seemed to identify with his bewildered approach to politics and attributed it to him being a "John Everyman" type of guy (which belies his pampered upbringing as a politician and oil tycoon family's son). For some reason, Palin has taken this a step further by not even being "Jill Everyman" but "Susie Shortbus" and some people relish over this as a quality of leadership -- as though our leaders should be average Joe Schmoes instead of the best the country has to offer.

You quoted me, then went on about something completely different. We were arguing about whether or not they were making fun of Palin. I dont know why you jumped in claiming she deserved it. I guess you agree with me? Thanks...

I disagree because when Family Guy makes fun of someone they do not bother to pull punches. If they wanted to insult Palin they would have put *her* in the freaking show like they've done to the many other celebs they've trashed.

Good lord. Yes, it was an obvious reference (aka, a "joke"). But the larger plot had nothing to do with Palin. This was a an independent young woman that Chris liked. How exactly does that relate to Sarah Palin or her family?

Thanks for coming to your senses.

/facepalm

You're really quite dense.

The ONE LINE IN THE WHOLE FUCKING SHOW was a reference to Palin. The rest had ZERO to do with her. I'm still 100% confident you haven't watched it, so I'm done discussing this with you.
