I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

Translation: "I'm unelectable and besides that, i'm only in it for the money (shoutout to Fox news on that one!)"

A good move. This way she can continue to attack the president and dems without worrying about political correctness. And she's a fund raising magnet and those funds from her PAC will go to a strong constitutional conservative.

I have a feeling Sarah Palin could use Spidey's mouth as a toilet and he'd find some way to applaud her.

Mister we could use a President like Hubert Hoover again. When 25% unemployment was the norm due to the same GOP policies we have now.

I'd also like to announce that I'm not running for president, either.

... since I had as much of a chance of winning as she did

Let's see here...If I was a Repub at this moment in time, looking at the list of Repub candidates I could choose from....I'd be pretty pissed off at how the vetting process has worked so far.

Well here's a hint: The Tea Party. Pledging allegiance to uphold their extremist agenda has poisoned the process of producing a viable contender. I can't see how the Repub Party can get by without this crazy kissing cousin's blessings, yet I can't see how the Repub Party can win the White House with the Tea Party's aging soon-to-be obsolete agenda driving the ideological direction the Repub Party takes.

The chances for putting a Repub in the White House is pinned on promoting anachronistic and extremist ideas such as Rand Paul's Tea Party inspired signature budget bill that recently passed the house. Well, sorry to say but it's passé. It's out of style.

The Tea Party's raison d'etre is at the present, a distant memory in the minds of those voters who will make a large impact on the upcoming elections. The hot topic for them is jobs. Specifically, working class jobs, something that the Repubs have been long on talking points about but non-existent on actionable legislation from the House they rule over.

Shrinking gov't? Not at the moment. Reducing the deficit? Sure, but not from cutting taxes for the supposed "job creators". Deregulate to create jobs? Not in the minds of the unemployed. All of these aforementioned factors that the Tea Party had afixxed their foundation on are now factors that work against them. Yet, the Repubs are, in effect, being held hostage by this outdated Tea Party agenda.

Just look at what that hostage taking has done to the make-up of the present crop of Repub Pres. candidates for proof.

Are you F'in kidding me??

After 8 years of hatred from the left now you want to claim that hatred is bad??

Give me a break.

I wouldn't consider it as actual hate per say for Bush but simply detesting his policies which as you can see from the fall out were justified ;)

So I'm channel surfing last night. CNN & MSNBC are running extensive (hour+) specials on Steve Jobs. Switch over to Faux and all they have is a little headline announcing Jobs's death at the bottom of the screen, while they are breathlessly annuncing their exclusive interview and long feature with Sarah Palin.

She may be an attention whore, but she certainly found a compatible roost with Faux.

No, it was hatred for the man.

Remember "Death of a President" ??
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_a_President_(2006_film)

A fictional take on the assassination of Bush?

Or I could just start posting pics of protest signs against Bush such as:

Or I could link to any post by Harvey made between 2001 and 2008 :)

I take it you never actually saw that movie. I did - got it from Netflix out of curiosity. It was produced by Britons, not Americans. It was in no way an anti-Bush movie - he was treated respectfully and never really did anything other than being a President who was assassinated in the early scenes of the film. He was more of a martyr than anything. If memory serves the actual assassination was not shown. It was an intelligent and thought-provoking film and in no way exploitative.

For what it's worth I am not here claiming there was no open hatred for Bush - there clearly was. I just think you're conveniently ignoring the vast amounts of open hatred of President Obama, including all the examples I mentioned in my earlier post. There is really no Bush analogue to this idiot: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/200...s-protests-telling-church-prays-obamas-death/

I just saw Dana Gould's tweet on the announcement, which sums it up nicely:

Palin Not Running. In a related story, a person no one likes announced they didn't want a job they couldn't do and wouldn't get.

I disagree that Obama is hated more virulently than was (and is) Bush.

I also think that Pastor is a flaming pile of shit and needs to have his church's non-profit status revoked. Praying for someone's death because you disagree politically is for all intents and purposes Satanism.

Yes, I'm sure that's the reason she backed out.

Nothing to do with the fact that she never had a chance in hell.

Well, that's that, but there's always 2016. Christie/Palin ticket anyone?

What I'd really like to see is Palin teaming up with O'Reilly at Fox as a cohost and watch the shit fly between those two egomaniacs as they try to out-lie and out-shine each other. "That's Entertainment" fer ya's. :D

I doubt Christie would touch that split tail for a running mate with your dick.

Have no fear, the left and the media (but I repeat myself) will continue to treat Palin as though she is a significant political factor.

As for myself, I like Palin. I also like Charlie Sheen. The net effects of a Palin Presidency and a Sheen Presidency would probably be much the same.
