Painkiller, Your Thoughts

It seems like the few demos I've tried play very well at decent settings. Painkiller, from what little I've had a chance to play, has very good graphics and performs well at the same time. I thought it was pretty fun.

The gaurdian boss makes my smooth performance come crashing down, I don't think i've ever seen such a complex boss. Very cool though.

haha i dunno, if they released the game around Halloween, it would be a SUPA SMASH HIT! But springtime?! AHHHH!!!

The graphics are gorgeous, but the story seems a bit weak. We'll see when the full version comes out.

I liked it
the thing used like 452mb of my memory
i couldn't figure out how to get the fps reading tho

looked pretty nice

uhm.... shouldn't you post this on a gaming site? I mean I'd understand if you were discussing how it reacted with your vid card, but you're just talking about the game... Anyway, just my opinion.

i agree, but i didnt find the graphics that stellar...maybe some dx9 effects my 4200 cant produce?

anyway, the demo sucked, i played it about 10 minutes and was so bored i went and spent time with my wife...

You can mod it and change the zombies with cute fluffy kittens and rabbits 😀

Like everyone else, I think the graphics are top notch. The game itself blows BIG time. It's a glorified redux of Serious Sam, tons of baddies swarming that are easily killed. Very weak.

Got it, installed it played it.
or tried to.

started out the first level, at 1280 with everything set to high (no aa/af) my 4200 was pushing 110fps...so i start walking around a bit, seems fine

but then the game locks up for 5 secs, then releases
then again 10 seconds later

every few seconds, the game will lock up for a few seconds. wierd.
running the 4200 on 56.72s
temps/voltages are fine...

if i could play it i think i'd like it...

I liked the demo, but I didn't think it was anything that I haven't already tried or currently have. The graphics were OK and the physics engine was great, but that's just not enough to get my dollar these days. There's a real glut in the FPS genre these days and shooters really needs to be inventive to stand out. Unfortunately, I just don't see anything appreciably special about this game.
