Well, that's kind of my point - their more usual modus operandi, if using bombs, is a suicide bomb. Or to just run around stabbing people till the police get them, dead or alive. Leaving the bomb and then clearing off seems to be a new approach and just doesn't seem the usual Islamist style. If it is Islamist in motivation at all (maybe it isn't - wasn't there a weird kid who tried leaving a bomb on a train recently, for not very clear reasons?)
