I found seven of these at the Best Buy in Topeka, KS. My friends and I bought 3 9600SEs and ended up with 3 9600Pros.

Went to Glenwood on Wednesday and all they had were 18034's. The one at Crossroads in Cary had two 18039's conveniently hidden at the back of the shelf - one remained ;)

Sorry, Glenwood is in fact out, its actually the Capital Blvd store that had the 3-4 as of this morning and I just mis-typed.

To my suprise and delight when I opened the box I noticed that the sticker on the card noted a 9600PRO. Using Clock Rate the default core is reported as 420 and mem at 324. This was an unopened package with the HL2 coupon enclosed.

Now it's time to overclock this puppy!

That's cool you got a deal, but not cool you were planning on using it and returning it.

What's not cool is that ATI put 64bit memory on this and still named it a 9600. BTW thanks for the self-righteous remark!

I spread the words to my buddies, and they told me the following:
Paramus, NJ Best Buy... they only had one, 188334XX.
East Hanover, NJ Best Buy... my buddy got the last one 188339XX... DAMM HIM!

I had completely given up all hope...
so I began my trip home, and stopped by the Secaucus, NJ Best Buy....

HOPING they had one left, I went to check and *sigh* nothing left...

But then, I just *happened* to turn around and there was a shopping cart behind me. In it was, oh.... man... there was one left, an ATI 9600 SE. I began thinking, "What are the chances it's an 188339 one?". So I asked a Best Buy drone to get it for me, since it was behind the counter. Then as soon as I touched it, I began groping this box like it was my first time with a chic... and there it was staring back at me.... 188339XXX. Yes!

So, I RUSHED over to the counter and paid for it. I RIPPED it in front of the other Best Buy drones, looking at me like I never made a purchase in my life....

- Serial Number: Check
- ATI RADEON 9600 PRO Sticker: Check
- Product Number: Check

WOOO HOOO! Thank you guys!

The best part is the reaction on the BB drone's face. He's like "What are you so happy about?"

"Um, err... nothing. Just happy about my new video cards *snicker* that's all *snicker*...

Quick stats:
3Dmark2003

Previous Card: GF4 TI 4200 @ stock
1438

New Card: ATI Radeon 9600 Pro @ stock

WOOO HOOO!
