I got in on this deal. Best Buy in Franklin/Brentwood, TN had 5 with serial numbers starting with either 180336 or 180339. Mine was a 180339. I haven't installed it yet, but the card has a Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB sticker on it. It will be a nice upgrade from my Geforce3 Ti200.

Thanks, OP. :)

I was at my local BBY as well... all the ATI Radeon 9600s (NP & Pro) were $149 AR except the AIW 9600Pro.
I think may just wait for something to pop up this holiday season. My puter needs a processor upgrade almost more than a vidcard.

The Tukwilla BB and CompUSA didn't have 18033xxxx cards at all either... I've checked 3 places today and all didn't have any... Anyone know about the Bellevue, WA BB??

you know what, i think this thing is going back. I dont really need a 9600 pro with my system (1.2 Ghz T bird) and would prefer to spend the same amount on an even better video card when i upgrade the entire thing.

Can the video card realy run at 9600 Pro clock speed ?

I am wondering if the stick really mean anything.

Thanks for the heads up on the trade-in program. I have an old GF2MX sitting on the shelf that I can't sell for much because it has a weird glitch in the video output (looks fine with the drivers loaded, has artifacts without drivers loaded) - not to mention the fact that it is a MX.

Depends, you get DX9 support, if 2.0 shaders are important then I would say yes.

So at BB they dont even EXPECT a HL2coupon to be in there?
So if it would be a 9600 pro but i'd return it anyway (because i might be dissapointed with the upgrade from ti4200), i could keep the HL2coupon, because it wasn't supposed to be in there in the first place?

I was just at my local Best Buy and was looking on the package for the 180336-9xxxx number and couldn't find it. All I could see was a #100-437009 just above the UPC.

Is the serial number on the card itself or is it on the box?

if the box is upright, it should be on the top from what ive seen. small white sticker that say S/N: xxxxxxxxx with a barcode on top of the number.

None of these boxes had that label on it. Should I ask to see the serial number before I buy it?

I think I know the answer to this...would this be a big upgrade to my 128mb Ti4200 Golden Sample?

I haven't been keeping up with ATI lately. Would the 9600 Pro be an improvement on a ti 4200 w/64 MB RAM?
