This is another presidents day sale feb 17-18

Here is the story

Buy for 99.99
add cheap item for .20
-30 MIR
-20 coupon that is found everywhere.
total is only $50 for a 24x cd burner. Nice deal eh

I got a btc burner, others got lite on. The coupon can be found at many other places for those who keep asking for a copy of it. (threads on staples at f@atwallet) for example

Link to burner🙂 LINK to BTC burner

If it says SMART-BURN on the outside, it's a Lite-On

If it says Buffer-Underrun or Burn-Proof, it's a Mitsumi.

I scored one a Lite-On rebadge at OD the last go-around, and it is one awesome drive. It's seek time is excellent, DAE is wonderful and I love burning an entire disc in 3-4 minutes.

I got an acer from the cendye OD sale last. I think i am going to get another one. At this price might as well stock up for future PCs

hmm online price is still $119.

we do not have a staples in this area (chicago,IL).

is there anyway to buy it at that price? maybe i should just wait?

You can call them up i think on sunday and place an order and use the coupon. If you talk to them i am pretty sure they will give you the B&M price.

they pricematch on their 1800 #, staples has a 110% price match guarantee so you may be able to do better if their online price is still higher

me personaly and going to use a 30 off 150 coupon that i got in the mail 100 for burer plus 30 for cd-r plus 5 for surge procter and 20 modem = $153-75 in rebates and 30 off 150 so only $48 final price.

there is a 15 off 100 printable and a 30 off 150 printable over at the website which is fat and drains peoples wallets.link

hey guys, can we use the coupon (code) for in store purchases? seems like the coupon is for "catalogue and online" only.

I'll be enjoying my first deal from here tomorrow 🙂

I'm going to get:
the burner ($99)
the 100pk of CDRs ($49 - $22 IR)
the 64MB Sandisk ($49 - $10 IR)
Total is $167.97, minus that $30 off $150 printable coupon, so $137.97.
Minus $70 MIR, $67.97 total.

Hopefully they'll honor it all.

Not bad on $199 worth of gadgets. 😉 Thanks for the great deal.

Update: Just got back, everything looks good. The drive is a Lite-On LTR-24102B, though I haven't installed it yet. For those who are interested, I purchased this at the Woodland, CA Staples.

Update 2: I installed the drive in my PowerMac G3. Toast 5 sees the drive just fine, and recognizes the buffer underrun prevention. I burned an entire 700MB CD in about 4 minutes, what a nice step up from my old 4x burner.

now up with correct price on their web site.
i ordered one, anyone have more info on this drive?

hmm... i dont think this has any buffer underrun protection ... even from their website, there is no mention of it and they are saying if there is such error, close all back ground programs... doh!!!

grrr.. should i cancel this order?!

Here's a question for those "in the know".

I bought this drive yesterday. On the box it says "Buffer Underrun Technology". In my device manager it shows up as a BTC BCE2410IM. I know this is supposed to be a Mitsumi, but when I compare the images at CDRInfo, my unit doesn't seem to look like ANY of the 24X ones. Maybe the bezel was updated?

Any ideas?

*cough*

Apparantly, BTC is another manufacturer. That explains it.

Can't complain though, I just burned 5 crapola 8X CD's at 16X without a single hiccup.

For those who wanted to know all 24x burners have buffer under run protection.

Here is how my deal went down.

28 for imation cd-r
100 for 24x burner
5 for power strip
20 for modem
20 for carry case
------- total
$173
-30 off 150 coupon
-5 MIR
-20Mir
-30MIR
-20 MIR
-20MIR
final cost after rebates is $48

I'm trying this drive, writing the Imation 24x CDRs. It takes 12 minutes to write 650MB data. I already set the jumper to be master. Also, mine is neither a rebaged Lite-on or Mitsumi, it's manufactured by some "Top G" company. So mine is going back...
