I hope none of the players are fined. Sure they make millions, but you do that sh*t to me and I'll go e-thug on yo' ass!

The problem is Artest went after the wrong fan!!!

Players should not be allowed to jump into the stands for any reason because of what happened at the game.

Artest went after the wrong guy, you can't have players go after anyone who they think did it if they have beer thrown at them.

Artest should be suspened for at least 10+ games, there is no reason for him to go in there.

If he can handle Ben Wallace coming after him, he can handle a beer thrown at him.

Fine the players 10 games worth of per-game salary. Take the money and build up riot shields like what hockey arenas have to stop pucks and give good body checking surfaces.

Basically, the people throwing the beer knew what would happen, and they provoked it.

WRONG!!!

These athletes get paid to be the "Bigger Man" and be responsible. This is totally uncalled for by the players. The fans were wrong and should be banned but they are known for heckling and getting rowdy. Alcohol brings all that out. DEAL WITH IT. Players should be a little smarter though.

Rowdy does not mean throwing beer. Trust me, I live in Philadelphia (or damn close enough), so I know how rowdy some fans get. Throwing batteries, magnets, beer brawls in the 700 level of the Vet. I know that. But athletes are paid to play. I guess you could say part of that is dealing with shi[/b]tty fans, but there's only so much you can take.

Fans deserved it. for the athletes getting their punches in while they could.

For once Artest really didn't start anything. Now he fouled Wallace hard, but that happens all the time. Then Wallace pushes him in the face and Artest didn't even react. Then if someone hit me with a full cup of beer, you damn skippy, that deserves someone to be thrown a beating. I never thought I would ever defend a totally nutt job like Artest 😕

Its absolutely assine for folks in this thread to say that the players had no right to react. If you throw anything on someone it can be considered assault.

OUCH!

That guy got exactly what he deserved. And Jackson had every right to clock his punk @ss to defend Artest. Fans don't get a free pass, because they are fans.

I have to agree that artest didnt start it. Though i still think he should be banned from basketball but not for this.

they threw stuff at him and that guy came up to him talking crap and got popped for it.

they didn't!!!

IT'S NEVER RIGHT FOR THE PLAYERS TO ENTER THE STANDS! EVER!!!!

If a fan acts a fool then its SECURITY/POLICE job to remove them and charge them. You don't take matters into you own hands and just go attacking whoever.

Pacer players deserve atleast 30 game suspension.

Once again then players get paid BIG BIG BIG $$$$$ to put up with this shit. SMALL price to pay for a lucrative lifestyle.

Its beer. It will wash off.

See weasels like you are full of sh!t. Just because a guy makes a lot money doesn't give you or anyone the right to say or do anything to him or her. They get paid a lot of money to play sports not take bs for a-holes like you. They don't get paid to have people throw stuff at them and physically attack them, moron. They have paid their price to get to where they are and they don't need little worm fans like you to watch them play and try to abuse them. I'll dare you try to even remotely justify what these fans, who are animals did.

And YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

These players CAN'T DO THIS.

Each person is responsible for themselves.

Throwing punches is not equal to throwing a drink.

The players SHOULD have let the police handle the fans throwing crap. IT was for the police to handle NOT the players to retaliate.

Agreed. It happens in baseball quite often. Milton bradly did something that now seems like nothing [because it wasnt much to begin with] but that was his fault. They are blaming none of this on the players, none of it.

Just because it happens in baseball doesn't mean that it's ok for it happen. Stuff like that should never happen at all. You can't blame Artest for that. Sure he shouldn't have gone into the stands and I'm sure he'll be suspended for that, but I can totally understand his position. It's Ben Wallace's fault for continuing to cause that fight.

The guy he should've gone after was the guy in the blue jersey and the tan cap. The blue jersey guy actually tried pulling Artest off of the kid he went after (maybe the kid was his son?) and then the blue jersey guy punched Artest in the head a few times. I believe Artest turned around and punched him back before getting pulled off.

All in all, I think the fans took it too far.
