Ok, completed my build last night with the following.
P5K Deluxe DDR2
Intel Core 2 Dul E6700
G.Skill 4GB (4x1gb) 4-4-4-12
Thermaltake Matrix VX
Seagate 320GB Sata 3.0
Zalman 9700 NT + Arctic Silver 5
Scyth Silent 120mm fans x2
Hiper HPU 580w
Lite-On 20x DVD Sata
EVGA 8800GTS 320meg
Windows Vista 64bit
Ill post a message about the case in the case forum as I am not really liking it, however too late to return it. The P5K booted on first attempt no problem, only issue is it did not see the DVD drive. I had the HD in Sata 1 and DVD Sata 2. It was not until I moved the DVD to Sata 5 did it read it. Once I saw it, everything installed easy. System and Windows saw all 4GB no problem. Installed Asus chipset drives, downloaded latest drivers for GTS. I have not done any OCing yet and the only stress test I have done so far was, I installed Supreme Commander. I set a skirmish on a large map, 6 players, 1000 units, sandbag(game never ends) and let is run. Everyone is still fighting each other after 12+ hours
temps are in the 28-31c after all night running.
P5K Deluxe DDR2 - Really like the board and layout, no problems on install other than have to place DVD on Sata 5/6
Intel Core 2 Dul E6700 - Sweet processor, coming from AMD 4200+
G.Skill 4GB (4x1gb) 4-4-4-12 - no problems with board or windows seeing memory, so far no memory errors
Thermaltake Matrix VX - Had to cut part of the plastic that holds all the PCI slots in to fit video card that requires 2 slots, power switch is unstable, would not buy again.
Seagate 320GB Sata 3.0 - love the HD
Zalman 9700 NT + Arctic Silver 5 - Was little worried when I first saw the size of it. Installed with little pain, but fit motherboard no problem. Temps 20-30sC. Cannot believe how quiet it is considering the size. The green LED makes it look like your in alien movie with the lights out.
Scyth Silent 120mm fans x2 - replaced fans that came with case. These are very nice, very quiet.
Hiper HPU 580w - really like the PSU and modular cabling
Lite-On 20x DVD Sata - Its ok, little loud but working good so far
EVGA 8800GTS 320meg - nice upgrade from my 6800U, will upgrade to 8900GTX end of year
Windows Vista 64bit - I an MS fanbio - they keep me employed
first time using 64bit, so far no problems but only have small amount of software installed.
so far so good. I have pictures, once I can get them hosted Ill post some.
