no i havent changed the alpha yet ~ i might just get another cooler.....

ppl need to be careful that their HSF doesnt bottom out (on the standoff) w/o touching the CPU.
its a good thing i checked for the AS2 imprint before attempting to tighten it down and fire it up :Q
id try a Intel HSF but i dont have one :Q it might not fit either

I actually had a good imprint on mine. Just checked it to make sure. So, I am gonna try it as is. I don't see any light coming through (since I have the board out, it is easy to check. I do not believe the Intel HSF will work either, designed different.

I don't think you can bend these GB boards. The PCB is SOOOOOOOO thick! ;)
Think I oughta just take off the washers on top of the board?

that might be why ~ fresh (unbent) board!

mine was already slightly bent in from the 2.26b.

a new board (GBay!) might just fix that prob for me ;) :D

I can atest to that. The first time I got my alpha 8942 and slapped her on I flipped when I seen that dip on the P4B533

:Q.You think its going to snap the board eventually.

do you think the no-go at 233 was too much heat, more than the mem could take, or past the litmit of your proc? maybe somthin else?

cant anwser that yet ~ well see how everyones "different" setups compare.
Erik is using water cooling ~ might make a diff, might not.
PJ is using a GBay board ~ same there.
my system has a slight cooling problem ~

its too early to tell (but im personally gonna blame it on a moboard limitation) ;) j/k

performance wise 4:3 (340ddr) would be pointless ~ but would be nice for finding the max on these cpus.

we still have to figure out what is/will be holding us back.

Before I would've said it's my mobo and memory...but after seeing Evan's stellar results with the -E, not sure about the mobo anymore. Tho I'd love to see how high I could go with a 4:3 multiplier, and I'd still be interested in the scores even tho memory would be running slow...and I'm not sure about the memory yet...

THUGSROOK - Using a Vdimm of 2.7 and 2.9 how hot is you ram geting... are you just anything more to cool the ram down? is it all right to run ram at 2.7 without add anymore cooling?

1.7M at 225FSB with DDR450 will be nice on a GB mobo
but I was hope to see 250FSB :D

Nice overclocking so far! keep it coming :)
