Erik & Mikki ~ what were your max temps running P95?
im over 50*C here :(

Mine were abnormally high, too, and remember: I'm on water:Q! I pinned at about 45C while Prime-ing, system at 29C. The cpu idles at system temp (still) but I used to have a temperature delta of only 6C, so I'm wondering if I'm experiencing the fallout of not having the nifty Intel heatspreader

. Still cookin' along, though;).

How high you running, THUGS? Don't tell me you're still at 200 fsb:Q?? Don't make me question your manhood in front of all your fans, lol:p!

lead? :Q lol... um i donno  feels like aluminum

im probably gonna take the time to remount my Alpha w/o its standoffs so it makes direct contact with the core ~ but for now 49*c doesnt seem to far off so ill continue to benchmark.....

2400mhz 200fsb benchmarks are posted

very impressive actually for only 2400mhz
*please note my 3dm2k1 scores are gonna be 1400 marks low because i use the 30.82 drivers ;)

210fsb is up next....

<EDIT> idle temp is now 30*C ~ very typical

had to raise the vdimm to 2.9v in order to stay at cas2227
again very impressive scores for only 2500mhz

222fsb is up next....

After that, try 224 just to beat out Mikki ;)

Looking good thugs....

Looks like you will not be able to carry cas 2 much further at the rate of the vdimm increases....I remember a time when you thought vdimm increases was a bunch of bunk!!!;) Watch for those diminishing returns....

May have to drop to cas 2.5 here shortly....

Even with my mobo 2.8v is a must above 410mhz ddr to keep my memory running at cas 2.5......2.9 can get me all the way to 426mhz ddr before cas 2.5,7,3,3 wont even cut it....

Also...Hats off to someone who actually test system with real world apps....Divx rules!!!!

one things for sure ~ the P4B533 is 800fsb compatible :D

hehe yea DivX encoding is like running P95 3dm2k1 and M86 all at the same time (if you could)

if you can encode an entire 3cd divx and not crash ~ you will pass both p95 and m86 :D

<EDIT> for those wondering what proggies i use ~ smartripper, dvd2avi, virtualdub

You may want to restate that to say.....

If you encode an entire 3cd divx and not crash and/or not have noticeable errors or flaws....

I have gotten mine to let me run a fulld Divx movie albeit 3.11 codec but it was high bitrate and 2cd plus and it did it eventhough prime95 at even 1.73v would not pass....Had some screwed up frames and some annoying little colored pixels every once in awhile...However it never did crash!!!

That being said real world applications can often do a much more thorough complete system stressing to a person likely intended use. That is often the most important anyways!!!

yes very well put.
especially on a 12x multiplier cpu ~ you could easily be 1fsb "too far"
passing all 3 w/o errors is the key.

besides ...i always watch the entire movie back after encoding ;)

I know how you are about quality so I don't find that hard to imagine!!!;)

It is a damn good test if one watches how it just pegs the 100% load to the floor and often with our standards in encoding will be pegged for 3-4 hours and yet stressing memory to its ability where prime95 does not....

Do you have it display video input and output as you go????

Hmmm Thugs, did you ever put out something like an ultimate stability guide? I know many people run the norm of 3dMark, Prime, Seti, Sandra, UT2k3. But now I see you use Divx encoding tests also, and what about any programs that'll stress the system through 3d rendering, or anything else thatll kill the system :)

i believe Duvie does 3d rendering....

ive always posted what i use ~ DivX encoding has been added since it is extreamly intensive and becoming widely popular.

Hey, THUGS, how are your temps while Prime-ing now? Mine are down to 40C (system 28C), only a temp delta of 12C instead of the delta of 16C I saw last night. Perhaps the 'sink is settling in?

are you 2-2-2 at 222 fsb?? wow:D!!

2640mhz 220fsb benchmarks are posted

233fsb is up next.... (maybe, hopefuly, .....maybe not) ;)

na Duvie i usually dont bother to show screen while encoding ~ im too busy watchin the stats ;)
(watchin screen makes it 25-50% slower)

i actually use my puter while encoding ~ or at least i did anyways ;)
well see how this "eMmy" turns out :)

we might all be hitting a moboard limitation at this point :Q

Thugs, Did you remove the standoffs on the Alpha? I ahve to take my board out, and as long as I was at it, I could do it if necessary...
