good job thugs...looks like your ram is happiest at DDR446...but i hope you wont be running it at those speeds for long cuz you may be killing your ram (you know...cuz of the 2.9v thats being pumped into it).

Hello all P4B533 User,

on a German Hardware Site, i´ve read a test with an unlocked P4 Northwood on your P4B533 Mainboard for testing DDR-Rams.
The Corsair, Mushkins ... can´t go higher than 227MHz (1:1) because, there is a FSB-Bug in the Bios of the P4B533 Mainboards!

That explain your Problems > FSB 228 MHz.

A Question on all P4- FSB Ruler here in Forum:

I have a P4-M here. It´s a 2,00 GHz Model. But i have no Motherboard for punishing this baby, cause i sold my Shuttle Mini-Barebone (SIS Chipset).

I testet my M on this Baby (only for testing), but the System didn´t booted, nothing happend! Then i put that Baby in a Soltek S478 SDR-Mobo, what i found in a dark chamber*rrrr*. It must be running in this Mainboard i think. But i didn´t work again.

So my question: Runs the P4-M on every s478 Maiboard?

we dont have a complete list yet.
so far its just the IT7, p4b533 & p4b533-E.
check the p4m database thread for updates.

pr497 ~ we'll see 😉
it wasnt the mem that knocked me down to 223fsb - it was P95 (and most likely heat)
if i could fix that up i should be able to hit the memory limit (225fsb)

🙂

Great tests and results Thugs, as usual. 🙂
Maybe your memory hit a thermal throttle with that 2.9v :Q running thru there. 😉

i wouldnt be surprised 😉
450ddr cas222 is pretty outrageous :Q

dont forget that earlier in the thread i also got the same "OC" using cas 2.5-3-2-7 & only 2.6v.

both me and Erik get the exact same lockup in bios @ 228fsb ~ so that there may be a bug.
besides that i think my prob is cpu heat ~ P95 crashes when it gets to 53*C but it usually hovers @ 51*C.

my southbridge was getting hot so i heatsinked it, but that didnt help OC. (northbridge already had fan)

🙂

228fsb or higher locks up the bios before i can even hit f10 to exit 🙁

that happened to me before...i forgot a what fsb tho...i think it was like 172-175fsb with 3:4 switch on...

NEXT EXPERIMENT

im thinking my used "bent" motherboard and makeshift shim are hurting my temps and overclock.
(my temps are too high for this combo)
i just ordered a fresh p4b533 and well see if direct contact with the core will help my temps and maybe get me a few more fsb 😉

hey thugs is that just in your case or does prime95 always fail at 53*C? if so that is great news & i will really be able to push my chip when my promie arrives 😀
