Interesting read
If intel gets Presler 65 nanommtre process right this time around. Could be interesting.
The latest releases from intel are really getting interesting to say the least they all hit 4ghz quit easly .
Presler on a hopefully better 65 prosess should beable to hit 6GHz without much problem. If intel contiues leaving there top of the line cpu's unlocked this truely is a developing story. Now don't jump all over me on this but Presler is suppose to be a cross of between Prescott and Dothan core Shorter pipes. I can't believe Iam thinking this but maybe netburst isn't going away. Intel is actually not saying much on this . But they did spend billions on this tech. Davids reply to this information is BA hum bug . I am going against him this time I think this tree may be a late bloomer bearing great fruit.

Yup, Normal as in the FX-55 Blows the EE out of the water.... Go away Intelia !

Overclock the FX-55 to 3000-3100 on their waterblock and watch the PIV cry like a whipped dog

Sure Doom 3 is 55% faster, but compared to what? An FX-55 in SLI mode with two 256 frame buffer 6800 ultras? They are using the 512's. Just look at the gaming peformance between the regular FX-55 and PIV 3.73 and give equal overclock. In fact I bet with the watercooling, the FX-55 gets nearly the same mghrtz overclock which would widen the lead even more because of the more efficient architecture.

"It is almost 25% faster in Sysmark 2004 that tests real world performance." What a joke. Intel has always owned many of the synthetic benches. It takes a 4.25 to be 25% faster in a synthetic geared toward Intel chips. LOL

Keep in mind i could build an entire gaming computer for the price of that P4 cpu

You guys are missing the point here . These are warranty parts . AMD is not going to warranty O/C . It is absolutly a PR stroke of genius.I am really quit shocked myself and David is in complete denial as he won't go near these cpu's . I am going to order the P4 3.73 and the with nvidia sli M/B and give them to him for fathers day. Just to see what he can do with them.

sounds like you must have some cash behind you to back that order .. i would recommend that you spend the money on english lessons (regards your posts on the merom thread) 😛

You could come close with an FX-55 as well..

Either way, AMD @ 3ghz will put a hurtin' on Intel @ 4.25

Lame! If Intel could really beat AMD they wouldn't have to promote BS articles like this.
They have now stooped to comparing an overclocked Intel to a stock AMD just so they can win🙁 Lets see an overclocked FX-55 on watercooling versus a stock Intel:roll: it wouldn't be pretty, the margin would be more like 75% not 25%. I'm pretty sure my SD3700+ @ 2.8ghz would beat that Intel @ 4.2

It's a mute point anyway, when the X2 comes out the gap will be so large even an overclocked intel won't touch it.🙂

Theres no way in hell they will hit 6ghz with shorter pipelies, i don't care what nm processor their using. assume they do...what difference does it make? the battle that has been insueing for the last 3 years will just repeat itself and intel is back to square 1.

AMD is far better in cost and performance. If you don't believe me, just look at almost every review on the web (unless the site is being funded by Intel) and look at what just about everyone is using in these forums. Nuff said.

WTF 6GHZ?! What are you smoking? Your English sucks btw, please do a spell check next time...

I agree that an OCed FX-55 will make the EE's arse ache for weeks, but there's no need to flame quite so much. Intel doesn't give a damn about how their processors perform, just their profits - and no one is going to argue that AMD will be winning this game any time soon. AMD makes better processors, but Intel is going to own most of the market share for a long time yet. : (

And an OCed FX55 will blow OCed EE out of the water.
Also ehat are you talking about. 6GHz with less pipelines JAJAJAJA!!!!!!!!!!. You must be very stupid to believe that BS.

and Intel isn't warrantying the CPU, Falcon is. Neither company will warranty OC.
