benchies are in the other thread, linked in the main post.

the benchies are to show progress, not a "king of the hill" type of score.
all benchies are in HQ, vid card isnt OCed, etc.

:)

3.8 is within reach for sure..

:)

Good Luck.

3.8 is within reach on air with a chip that traditionally maxes out at 3.5? I dont see where youre getting that guess from.

3.61g is certainly a beautiful OC for an M0.

hmm, i have a 2.26b in my other machine... It is running PC2100 Ram though, and the FSB is at 154.8 and over 2.7ghz it isnt stable at all...But i think that is probably because of the ram, because 266 -> 310mhz on the ram is pretty far... maybe i will switch in my corsair VS later to see what it can do!

* its also on a granite bay motherboard, 533fsb by default, so i think getting to 800 fsb would be damn near impossible unfortunately, but i can try :/

It is impossible with granite bay, and i promise you, that chip is not this stepping and cant O/C that far.

3.55 on default vcore??? And with HT on this chip it is pretty much faster then anything Intel has came out with since the northwood...LOL!!! I would love to see you bench it at 3.73ghz and smoke that 1000+ monstrousity EE chip.....

I think my 3.0E can take it, ive got 170mhz core up against what, 5 fsb the chip doesnt use anyway?

if he stayed at 3.55ghz I bet you beat him, but if he clocked to 3.73ghz I bet he wins...

Go ahead test it out guys....I have already seen some guys test it at other sites the northwood is still pretty impressive....

I meant against the EE, not thugs chip.

3.61ghz is on def vcore
3.71ghz on 1.6v
3.80ghz is in reach @ or below 1.75v, i aint gonna bother to find out tho cause my mem cant make it there 1:1, so there is no point.

im personally only interested in what it can do on def vcore anyways ;) :)

I dont bump voltage more than 5% personally because i need this cpu for longer than a year (i have run chips at longer than a year at ~10%, but thats my safety net). Im sure you could pull an extremesystems.org and prometia mach II the damn thing at 2v with mods and push 4.0ghz, that doesnt mean its a feasible OC :p

i think 3.8 on a northwood on air would be some kind of record, ive never seen an M0 push that far without water.

my former 2.8C is able todo 3.8ghz 271fsb 437ddr on 1.65v (quiet air cooled).

3.8ghz s_pi screenshot

...but nobody really pays any attention to me tho ;) :)

That's some nice northwood overclocking THUGS. I thought you switched over to A64 though?

This is the chip every intel fan should be buying... unless you really believe the HT hype.. most gamers leave it off anyway and $130!!! with cheap excellent i865PE mobos.. no brainer.

Why when you can get an Athlon64 3000+ 754 for the same price ????? Or is the key word here "Intel fan" ????

Well ya. But between those those two it's a tough choice.. Better boards on Intel but better latency from AMD.. Same old song about performance.. better for Intel in MM and AMD in Math and Games. Still it's exciting to see Intel releasing sub $150 potential screamers. Last time I think they did so was old coppermine celeron days.
