The last word I heard was that Abit would pass on Granite Bay. They've changed their minds before though so, we'll see.
The Gigabyte GA-8INXP is in my cross hairs.

Sweet!!! You will get 3ghz easy if you are still at 1.5v with 2830mhz....

I want to upgrade, but I tell myself wait for the c1 stepping chips!!!!

not on this motherboard i wont :(

itll only go 170fsb and 1.65v ~ ill have to wait for granite bay to hit 177-180fsb ;)

Well...Since it took a good leap of vcore to get to 2830 I think you likely would not reach 3ghz with 1.7v or less....I thought 1.5v was it, but I guess you hadn't prime tested it.....

oh Duvie ~ youre forgetting my vcore options are limited.

they are: default +5% +10% & +15% ...no in-betweens ;)

3ghz would be looking at 176-177fsb for 354mhz dual channel ddr....sandra numbers in 4300's likely....

I am hoping the c1 stepping chips like the ones lukfilm had with his dell 2.0a p4's that hit 3.2ghz will start arriving and I can run my corsair pc3000 cas 2 at its ated speed in the dual channel setup....

3.2ghz = 188fsb x 17...that would be very sweet...cause I likely could still be running cas 2 settings...

Well unless we all have ruled kyle over at hardocp.com as a liar he said he had already achieved 188fsb level with his GB mobo.....I think he mentioned 200fsb as high mark in one of the threads I read....

I think it will be capable and if it takes a chipset revision before the springdale chipset comes it likely will be unofficially supporting dual pc3200 by then...

did he mention the words "prime95" or "M86" in any of those threads?

im sure we all know the difference between "running" and "achieving" by now ;) :)

ill be posting the 170fsb scores in a sec...

Looks great Thugsrook! :) A couple things I'm seeing, aside from this board's awesome memory contoller...

...the 2.26b (or at least THIS 2.26b) has the potential to be as great of an oc'ing chip as the 1.6a (as far as fsb). Beats the heck outta some of the others, I honestly didn't think they'd do this good with the different multipliers...;)
Multiplier in action for those that want to know:
1.6a @ 170fsb = 2738mhz, about 2.75g.
2.26b @ 170fsb = 2890mhz, about 2.9g.
Over 600mhz difference between the two before oc'ing, about 125mhz difference @ 170fsb....:)

...anyway, the other thing is, with that 125mhz jump at 170fsb, you gained a nice, precious jump in frame rates...;)

Obviously the 1.6a's gonna hit the For Sale board soon, any nice differences between the two chips worth mentioning? And did you notice the difference in temps between the two chips? :p

the 2.26b runs cooler then the 1.6A did by a few *C.

its kinda hard to make an apples vs apples comparison....
you either need to call the 2.26B a 1.7A or the 1.6A a 2.13B ;)

i cant wait to get this sucker on a granite bay board :D

Awesome Thugs! Glad you decided to go ahead and post some numbers for the 2.26 - looks like a winner. Keep 'em coming!

So far I'm loving this BE7 and can't thank you enough for the recommendation. :D
