you checked out those new sis645dx boards?

oh yea, the ram at googlegear isn't true samsung ram, its samsung chips on a cheap pcb (i bought one), so it doesn't overclock that high.

I think going with the 550 watt is smart, now your ready when something comes out down the road that needs big power.

Ahhh - thanks for the tip. The thing is, I understand the same is true of the Samsung RAM at Newegg, so perhaps neither is a great deal.

from what everyone says, that samsung original is super duper great ram.. so stick with that....

Don_Vito: i emailed googlegear to ask them about that RAM.... it is not a samsung original. It is made by a third party manufacturer that uses the Samsung memory. I was also trying to find out why it was so much cheaper than newegg's....

But.... Lizardman, you can get a 1.6a at googlegear.com for 134.00 and 50 cents shipping, compared to the 6.95 shipping from newegg.

i've been looking around as well. :)

Thanks! Actually this morning I ended up pulling the trigger on a 1.6A, P4S533, and 512MB of the Samsung PC2700 DDR from Newegg (which, contrary to my prior post, apparently is Samsung Original).

Definitely. I hope I don't end up kicking myself for not buying a 1.8A; we shall see . . . I guess at this point I could probably Ebay the 1.6A for about what I paid if it will not get up to 2.4 GHz.

I think the True550 is overkill too. Just get a True430 if you want a lot of power available.

With the $10 off coupon the price isnt all that bad. Close to the 430watt one. But then agian i could have used the $10 off on the 430, unless it was 10 off 100 :p

Well the first P4S533 I built I put a good 350 watt power supply and it wouldn't even boot at 160 FSB, Changed to a true 430 and it would, On the one I am working on now I went with the same 430 and it runs at 160 FBS but with stock heatsink just way to unstable, Funny thing is when I run it at 158 it run stable but at 160 the fan speed slows down to 1300 RPM's and the temp goes over 50C, Back it down to 158 and the fan speed picks back up to 2700 and runs fine, Think I would go with the 500+ next time
