OhMan, if you change your mind, you can always sell the chip and go back to the C300A. I would be happy to take the 700E off your hands. :)

I talked with a guy at Nata Computers and he said that my asus board was horrible for OC'ing and not stable at all especially with fc-pga chips. I am still gonna keep mine after hearing a good amount of people say they are OC'in their chips well with that board. He also recomended gettin the newest Abit slotket that was designed for the asus to take care of the problems and issues it had before. Can anybody shine some light on why he said "out 50 mobos we sold, 47 camed back and they were all asus p3v4x's"
They sell the golden orb for 12 bucks so I am still gonna do business with them, plus they are within driving distance too. But goto their website if you are looking for a cheap Orb. Just put a www and a .com around their name. They got a better score on reseller ratings than onvia did so I am not givin you a bullsh!t site. Now I gotta wait on Monday to get my chip.

Overclocked my cbo to 1008mhz in a cuv4x motherboard. No temperature problems at all with the retail fan running Q3 loop. Nothing over 130F!!

I have read much fuzz with the week 20 deal, what is that all about? Received my 700 Cbo and all I get it up to is 840 with the original Intel package and Asus P3B-F (no BIO upgrade yet) and Asus Slocket. The damn slocket won't fit in my case... which I need to pick one up next week. any recommendation?

now, am confused as to whether the week 20 thing will hinder me from achieve the 933 nirvana... thoughts? I think I do have week 20...

'nough said.. betta grab some dim sum now...

icetea:

I got 1 week 20 700E w/IWill Slocket II that will only reach 875 Mhz stably.

I got another week 20 700E w/MSI Master Slotket and it's at 945 Mhz.

So not all week 20's are bad.

I was going to do this but if it's not a big upgrade in speed performance from a PIII at 133X4.5= 600, then why bother? I'm curious if other people have had the same dissappointments in performance while runnng at 933mhz?

I went from a P3 450 @600 to a P3700 @933Mhz and the difference is very noticable in processor dependant programs.

hey,

anyone buy theirs w/the amex blue card? did u know that they have a 60-day price guarantee policy? so, if you find the product cheaper anywhere in 60 days, fax it in and they'll match it. hasn't this thing already dropped like ~$30 schmacks in the past 4-6wks?

mo' money, mo' money! ;)

-FMT

ps. if u don't have the blue, get one...i wouldn't buy any of my computer/electronics w/o it! (cuz we all know how fast prices drop on that stuff)

pronto: thanks for your .02

Since am a newbie to OC, I have tons of questions...
1. Should I try to send it back for a different chip?
2. How much does the slocket weigh on the OC'ing the 700 on P3B-F? (ordered MSI the other day, but can't wait for delivery, so bought Asus...)
3. Anyone with the same scenario that can lend me a hand? P3B-F, Asus slocket, and able to get it to pass 840 or know how to pass it, please share your expertise...

damn, this list is getting me hooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a good day!

Ok I just got off the phone with a dickhead representitive from Onvia named "Ave." He said I could choose whatever warehouse I wanted and then told me it would cost m $25 big ones for "special handling."

I told him to forget it I would take my chances with whatever warehouse I got online and if it was from the wrong one I would return it. He said "well I am going to block your email address and put a note in note in not to allow your fraudulent return."

Boy was I pissed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he just hungup on me so I called back...but then the manager ended up calling me somehow (they have a cool automated system I guess) and the manager restated everything about the $25 "special handling" fee.

But he agreed with me that I could return the processor for whatever reason I wanted as long as it was unopened. Fine by me. I'll keep ordering and returning until they get it through their thick skulls not to try and strong arm their customers into giving into ridiculous extra fees or being bullied by numbskull CSRs. Haha the CSR told me it costs them $50 for every return they get. Sounds like they are about to lose a truckload of money, courtesy of Oktane.

Get this --

They deactivated my coupons. It now tells me my coupons have "already been used."

What a crock.

UPDATE: It wasn't too hard to make a new account, using the same CC# and billing address too!

Do you believe the CSR had the nerve to "check with his manager" and tell me that the AMEX coupon was expired? These people are such blatant liars.

I have mine at 933mhz running regular appz fine. but Gamez get real choppy and texturres get all messed up. Can anyone give me a reason for this? I checked my cpu temp right after playing for 5 minutes and it had spiked to 176 degrees F. It it that or the TNT2 vid card i have? Imma buy the golden orb at the end of the week and I am using an Abit slocket w/ a P3V4X.
I have it at 4.5 x133mhz with Micron pc100 ram.

Well I'm very impressed with my chip. I only have pc100 ram so I'm keeping the fsb to 133 for now. But it won't be long before I go to a gighz. I know this chip can do it because right now its at 1.65 volts and is only 40 c! And this is after 3 hours of gameplay. I scored!
