Unrelated. The cut to services was a reduction to normal funding levels following the end of COVID emergency funding.

That said, taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for professional sports stadia.
Was the COVID emergency funding still needed in 2025, or would the children of NY benefit from those funds more than they would a stadium? If either of those is yes, what in the fuck, NY?

I think children will always benefit from additional funding over entertainment. But this isn't a NY problem. It's the status quo with sports these days, and it's only going to get worse.

The $800 million cut was in 2022, a year before the deal was made with the Bills. Again, unrelated.
