It got so bad before I retired, you had to fight getting bricks off of outlets that were configured in drawings to be dedicated to my temporary gear. All kinds of stuff that me as a contractor would NEVER be able to put on a vessel due to Tempest requirements.
The final insult and partial motivation to retire was that our idiot engineers went and bought a ridiculously expensive LCD display that turned out it couldn't pass Tempest requirements and they modified it and the interface with fiber optic connection would drop out from time to time. It just happened that one of those unauthorized but purchased by the crew LCD monitors was already in our temporary space and our own engineer on the QT said well if our display drops out just hook it up to that one (wink, wink). Well, sure enough the CO started bitching about our display dropping out, so I called the swap. Mission accomplished not other problems occurred.
But, I did not follow procedure and made an unauthorized equipment modification, and had a wonderful chat with my dept director when we had a managers meeting a month or so after the mission. That was part of the final straw.

I mean honestly.. look around you.. do you see anyone researching positions/ propaganda and it's likely outcome as much as we do?

Most are just in an ignorance is bliss mode with their Trump shirt and maga hat on.
