Smart move building the expensive houses up on man made hills

From what I've heard from people on the ground is that government has thus far been largely ineffective compared to the volunteers, both in rescuing people and providing for them. Looting and such happening and now the police are threatening arrest for those carrying long guns.... which it is legal in Texas to open carry long guns....

For that matter, conservatives really need to stop complaining about the cost of drinking water and other such items spiking in cost 20 to 100 fold. That's the free market at work people! Capitalism. Supply and demand.

Stop being a troll. Free market is one thing but to jack up prices of critical items in time of need/disaster is not right and illegal.

Do you know there are laws against excessive price gouging in Texas? Do you?

  1. Selling or leasing fuel, food, medicine or another necessity at an exorbitant or excessive price; or
  2. Demanding an exorbitant or excessive price in connection with the sale or lease of fuel, food, medicine or another necessity.

Of course there are laws against it, even in Texas. Yet many Texans that surely appreciate these protections are often the most vocal in opposing government interference and business regulation.

IIRC, there were more than a few instances of price gouging in Northeast area during Sandy - http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/..._over_alleged_price_gouging_during_sandy.html

Uncontrollable greed is the problem everywhere, not the size of the government/numbers of regulations/laws.

um, yeah. because the point is that those brave volunteers are the ones that will be footing the $100-500 billion dollar costs over the next decades.

Oh, you didn't understand the situation? carry on, then.

oh no! the Texas government made laws against capitalist enterprise?!?! that's pure freedom holy capitalism getting ruined by over-regulation!!!

*swoon

...and yet you voted for Trump, to increase the size of government, to create more theft.

good job.

You are such a tool and a fool. I tried to ignore you (see the stupid statement above about Texas laws again gouging). Gouging is capitalist enterprise? Really? How stupid can you be? Look here, NJ has similar law too - http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/News/Pages/03132017-23.aspx, same for NY - https://ag.ny.gov/price-gouging. Oh no, look at them blue states, against capitalist enterprise (by using your stupid logic). (eyes rolling)

The statement about me voted for DT was just beyond stupid.

I voted for Trump? Where did you pull that out? From your pipe hole? Put up some evidence or shut the fuck up.

Good job for being a pathetic troll. Way to go chump.
