The constitution doesn't completely prevent two people from the same state on the ticket, it just prevents electors from that state from voting for both. So you might (if the EC difference was within the margin of said state's electoral vote total) get into a weird constitutional conundrum where the VP pick wouldn't get the state's votes, and would need some unusual procedures to sort out.
